I've recently watched some Mario videos on youtube where instead of having to load a save state every time the player died he just rewound the game. I know the player was playing on vizzed and it just seems so much more convenient so I was wondering if you guys could help me figure out how to do that. I have very little experience here so hopefully I'm not just completely overlooking something and hopefully this is in the right sub forum. Thanks.

buckey00 : Was he just saving as he went along? That is, pushing F2 to save mid-game? If so, then most games support that.

buckey00 : If you are playing on the emulator that needs the Vizzed plugin, then you can do it. If you press f2 on your keyboard, the game will save. And if you want to load that save state, press f4. Test it out to make sure it's working first.

No it was actually skipping backwards, he could either rewind a short distance or rewind longer. When it went backwards the "loaded state 1" didn't come up, but every now and then he would quick save and load and the "loaded state 1" would come up.

Yeah, that feature is not on the RGR plugin, as far as I know, so please post the link to the video.

Ok I finally figured it out after about an hour and a half of looking in the options screen and messing with things. What you have to do is go into config then click on saves. In saves there will be a place where you can map rewind to a key. You can also choose how long the rewind goes backwards.

ZSNES is the only emulator in the RGR that will allow mapping a rewind key. This is because it's the only emulator with its full menu enabled. VBA also has a rewind function, but it probably won't work in the RGR, as the menu is disabled and thus, you can't set a rewind interval.

Anyway, since the OP figured out the solution, this thread can probably be closed.
