I say the AFC North is the hardest. The Ravens and the Steelers have had their Rivalry since the Ravens joined the league in the 1995-1996 season. If you ask a lot of players in the NFL, they will tell you the AFC North because of the Steelers and Ravens defenses.

And, no, the Ravens being my favorite team have nothing to do with my decision.

What do you think is the hardest division in the NFL?

I think the NFC North is stronger than AFC North. The Packers are probably better than the Ravens, and the Lions are probably the best 4-9 team in NFL history (and they would've beaten the Texans if their coach could maintain his composure and just not throw his challenge flag).

But even that isn't the strongest division in the NFL. I think the strongest division is probably the NFC East. The Giants are always a strong team, and when Tony Romo can keep from turning the ball over the Cowboys are an even better team. At the same time, the Redskins have one of the best offenses in the league and they're really coming together at the right time.

I have to agree with sox.

The Cowboys are a playoff potential team and they might be the 3rd best team in their division.

I'd say second is the NFC North with the AFC North being a close third.

The thing with the AFC North is that the Ravens have a mediocre offense and the Steelers defense has been pitiful this year. Neither team would succeed for sure in the NFC North or East.

thing1 : I’d have to say the NFC East. It always seems to be the most competitive division in the league and always seems to go down to the wire. I just hope the Giants will be in position to defend their title come playoff time. Least I hope so but realistically there are a lot of teams that are still in the hunt because of the wild card and such. It makes for some entertaining football. The Bucs game last weekend was real heart breaking to watch. Somehow their still in it but I would consider their playoff chances slim at this point. I’ve seen stranger things though.

It would have to be the NFC East as all 4 teams are playoff contenders (Philly just have a bad year, they will get better next year.) NFC North was a good division, but the Lions and Vikings are not in the same league as the lesser of the NFC East teams (which is debateable).

Everyone that thinks the NFC east is the best division in football are living in a dream world.  You had good Cowboys teams in the mid-90s.  You had Eagles teams that almost went to the Superbowl a few times a decade ago.  The GIants have won a few Superbowls but with a wildcard at 9-7.  The NFC Least is full of overrated, underperforming teams, with the exception of the Giants.

I'd argue right now, the NFC north is strong with GB, Chicago, and even Minnesota.  Also, the AFC NOrth has three teams over .500.

I think the oddest thing is that someone voted the NFC West as the toughest division.
If it's hardest to win, it has to be the NFC East because of how three teams there like to hang out together around the standings.

This was a tough decision between the NFC east and the NFC north but I though that the east was a bit harder to win.
