I'm a bit skeptical of how it's gonna work out... fan games are kinda hit-or-miss... but hey, it's free so it can't hurt to try.

I do recall seeing a game where you could fight Akuma once and the battle was pretty much impossible. He had 2 full health bars and barely took any damage. I'm afraid that's what boss fights will be like with this... incredibly imbalanced.

That's actually what concerns me more, actually. I'm worried the SF bosses will be extremely broken/imbalanced and impossible to fight as Mega Man. I'm not sure how well SF adapts to the Mega Man style. It sounds very clashy. I've never seen it done well before.

I think the Lady is referring to the whole Guts-man, and Top-man thing. Those weapons were not very useful. They caused more problems than solved any. But the thing about mega man is even with those flaws the games were great still. I have very few doubts about it being effective or good. I don't think its a gesture to be afraid of. It's just good advertising. Where could the down side to this be? It's Capcom. They always test their goods. I'm thinking this will be a positive experience. Taking two great Titles that work and jamming them together is a fun Idea. I'm "Stoked." (I really hate that word. Someone invent a better one please.) The Blue bomber is almost extinct. His games are legendary. I'd love to take part in this. Even if it does flop I'd still want to try it out. Bring on the buzz killers I'm unhindered. I'm not phased even in the slightest bit. I'm having fun. You all should too.
That's it. I'm done. Stick a Fork in me.
Peace.

I saw this news on Capcom's site a few days ago and I couldn't - and still haven't - figure how they are releasing this game. Is it going to be a downloadable stand-alone emulator, or a in-browser game?

tRIUNE : I'm sure it's just its own exe file like any other PC game would be.

orionfoxgibson : Capcom always tests their goods? That statement just makes me laugh. Obviously someone hasn't seen how glitchy Street Fighter x Tekken was. And since this game doesn't appear to actually be developed by Capcom (just endorsed by it), I doubt Capcom themselves are testing it. Whoever IS making it does seem to have a solid game made if the trailer is any indication though. It kinda makes me want to go back to making games... but I never can keep my interest going since I'm usually my only audience :/

Crazy Li :
If you are a developer. ...(Dun, Da, Dunaaa.) Then I'd advise you to "take the cat out of the bag." If its a technical issue I'm certain that all of us would be interested. Would there be any issues with the current program languages that are apart of the make up of that game? Is there a distance issue? Is it about the products ability to process such alterations? Is the staff not able to make such a product? I have played many N.E.S. titles that can effectively do what they advertise. Beyond that I'm certain we have advancements to clear up any type of issues that might be addressed. I also think that if its a "Hoax" it would be a fun one to take part in anyway. What exactly is it that generates fear with you concerning this matter? If it works it works. If it does not, then it does not. AND ... So what? It wasted about a collection of minutes or an hours worth of energy. I still fail to see the down side to this. If its a way to launch a "virus" then I think a little reporting is in order. Either way I Trust the "Blue Bomber" to be in good hands. That game is over 20 years old. I'm certain a little overhaul can do more good than harm. You Obviously didn't play "Marvel versus Capcom 3." That thing is a beautiful work of art. And if another team other than "In House" staff is going for the gold on that project then "kudos" to Capcom for branching out, or saving a buck. Very few companies are daring to try new things (I understand your apprehensive nature.), but this is a fun gem to at least venture out and check the cave for a minute or two on. If its more your "game" to "kill buzz" then say so. I have no issue with that. Some folks are built like that, and it sometimes can be a drag for others. If the whole thing is just a nice video and nothing more then it will eventually be revealed. You get the new found ability to say "I told you so." (Quick. Print out that last statement and hold it above your head with both hands.) As I keep stating. I fail to see the down side. Enlighten us. If you will.

orionfoxgibson : I think you misunderstand. I'm not trying to say this will definitely be bad or a waste of time or is a bad idea. It looks like a really neat game that could be lots of fun. I just don't know how playable it'll be yet. I do like that they seem to be making custom stages and stuff and have put a lot of work into the project but I already gave my reason for my concern: I've seen this sorta thing done before with Mega Man versus Akuma and the Akuma boss was so brokenly hard that it would make fighting him no fun at all. Aside from being impossibly cheap, the mechanics they used for him didn't blend well with Mega Man (for example, he could grab your shots and throw them back at you, which made no sense). If this game does anything similar, the boss fights won't be very fun in my opinion. I'm not trying to say the WILL do that, just that I'm concerned by the possibility. If they actually managed to make the SF characters behave in a way suitable to the MM environment, it'll be a great game, though.

True... I've seen some pretty bad mix ups of with Mega Man and yea some are downright unplayable. Do you have a link of the game where you can play Akuma? I would like to check it out.

I'm with Crazy Li on this one. It sounds great and it sounds like a promotional stunt Capcom pulling for something down the road. I won't judge it before I try it. One thing I do know though, is I'm going to download it. You can never, EVER go wrong with free stuff.

Okay so I just tried this game... and it's unplayable for me. It keeps getting laggy for a few seconds and then goes back to normal play. Not sure why a game like this would be resource intensive and lag my computer. It's not like I have a bad machine either. It's a dual core with 6GB of RAM and handles the NeoGeo games on the site at full speed (MAME is known to be a resource-intensive emulator). The worst part about the lag in this game is that it completely stops reading your controls when it lags. Most games just slow down but you can still move around and stuff. With this, if it's not running full speed, I can no longer act, but the enemies can still attack me. I suffered through about 10 minutes of this and after the 3rd time that I fell down a pit because it locked up during a jump (not to mention all the times I got hit by enemies when this happened), I deleted the EXE :x

Also, as I suspected, the actual SF bosses are very over-the-top.

when I started playing it there was some pretty bad lag, but after restarting the computer it ran just fine. I feel it was much easier than Mega Man 9 and 10 and was a little disappointed that there was no save feature and I had to beat it in one sitting. It was okay: still fun to play, but the boss fight left me with a "THAT'S  IT!!!?" feel.

I Jammed on it and thought it worked just fine.
I don't seem to be having any problems. Then again I don't have my computer "Multi-tasking" all the time. The Graphics were fine. the music made sense without being too annoying (its still 8-bit themes). I haven't cleared all the levels yet I just nailed Ryu and Chung Li. The no save would be O.K. if there were at least a password system.(Like I always said about classic games. Anything over 30 minute sittings can cause stress. Even Mario Brothers 3 can be unbearable.)
To Remedy the no save or lack of password I advise using the "Buddy System." Clear a day of your schedule to play, call a friend over, and change players every 10 to 30 minutes. Other than that its a good game though I have yet to play the whole thing through. Over all I think the thing went off without a hitch. For all the nay sayers that had glitches? Kudos to you. You didn't think it could work any way. So, We Were All right. (Talk about confusing.)
Any who.
Good Luck To All.
I'm Done. Stick a Fork in me.
Peace.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
