Both innovative games, but which do you feel is superior? I felt that Super Mario Galaxy because of the exploration present, the presentation felt better, and it shows how wide the Mario series can go.

I kind of like Mario Galaxy but I am going say I think Mario 64 is my favorite of the two. Even better, if you would count the DS remake of SM64. This is not really an argument though because these games are on two different consoles and Super Mario Galaxy is much newer then Super Mario 64. It would be like saying would you prefer Zelda 1 or Wind Waker (both very good games). I don't know though, it's my opinion.

I like Super Mario 64 better. It is just a classic that you just can't beat. Super Mario Galaxy still might actually be the better game. Both isn't really too hard, just a few tries. I also beat Super Mario Galaxy on my first try.

But know this, if Super Mario 64 had a new remake up to par with Super Mario Galaxy, it would be awesome. I mean like an console remake, not an handheld. I know about the DS version.

I'm really biased because I've only played Super Mario 64 so that's obviously going to be my choice. I shall give galaxy a try sometime in the future though and hopefully I'll enjoy it.

I'd prefer Super Mario 64, because I find it more challenging, and just more fun. If it was between Super Mario 64, and Super Mario Galaxy 2, then it would have been closer, but I still think that Super Mario 64 would be better. The thing that I like better about Galaxy, is that there aren't as many stars per level, meaning more variety of levels.

Anyway, it really depends on how you look at it, Galaxy is of course the superior game if you think of which one of them that technically is the best. But to me Super Mario 64 is one of the greatest games of all time, it had amazing music, well designed fun maps, pretty much made games what they are today and it was my first Super Mario game and also my childhood. What Super Mario Galaxy did though is that it pretty much perfected the 3D Mario formula, which is what makes it such an amazing game. Anyway, Super Mario 64 had its flaws, but many of those flaws were also its charm. I prefer 64, it was amazing for its time, but for a person who had never played Galaxy or 64 before and decided to beat both would probably prefer Galaxy in the end.

Super Mario 64 is ten times better in my opinion.
I've played both and Galaxy took me no time to beat it (way to easy) and it easily didn't have the same enjoyable atmosphere that Super
Mario 64 had. Plus, I do think 64 was more challenging.

Both games have great gaming ability. Both games have an amazing overworld, and music, but I have to give Super Mario Galaxy the credit. I love it. Its the game that really brings what Mario has been made famous for in the first place. An adventure game that we all grew up to play to. I love it. SM64 may be one of the best classics ever, but SMG is just better in its own right.
