I recently had this problem as well. And I'm still not sure what caused it.

I had done the following:

Uninstalled
Registry cleaned (cleaned out files related to the Plugin from my registry, you don't need to do that, I'm just that OCD about it)
Cleared cookies
Restarted machine
Updated Java (Because its a pain)
Re installed RGR

... still nada

Fast forward to about 45 minutes later after just letting my machine site and do nothing... it works.

so I can't really explain WHY or HOW its doing that but my suggestion is just to wait about a hour or so (I'm sorry thats the best I got, I hate waiting too) and try again. IT could just be a little error in your internet service causing the problem (thats what I suspected with mine)

If you get any other error messages though, post them so I can take a look I might be able to help more.
