How would you rate it? I would say 9 hours in jail for 180+ days and half your life in jail for no specific reason. I hate school! I just do! I don't know why I'm at this section anyway! >__<

Schools not so bad, I mean you get to see friends there, and hang out! If you didn't go to school you'd have to hang out with them somewhere else. I like going to school, but sometimes I don't because of tests and such, but its the fact of life, so deal with it! =P

I pretty much moved before the school year started, so I'll give a general idea of how I feel about both schools, Nya~.

Old School: In all honesty, I pretty much loved it. Almost all my friends were there, they were generally in all of my classes too, and I'd pretty much enjoy my time throughout the day. I never really had a boring day, even in the days I had my shop/tech classes (Which was Computer - Programming/Web Design), Nya~.

New School: In all honesty, I hate it. Everything about this place just makes me feel absolutely dead and alone. I have almost no friends here, and the only friend(s) I do have, I only see once every other day, and talk to for generally just a half an hour, Nya~. There are fights every day (Which is pretty low key compared to the old school, since some kid came in threatening with a gun one day
Spoiler:
Funny story, that day, I was in school, I was in the class right next to the area, but I left early for a dentist appointment, and about a half an hour or less after I left, the kid showed up. I pretty much missed the whole scene, heh
), and the only thing anybody here talks about are the stuff I despise the most: Drugs, Smoking, Alcohol, Red neck stuff, etc.

So yeah, I hate the school I'm at now, Nya~ :V

MegaRevolution1 :  Heh... sounds like a couple of schools I attended, and like several that are in this area.  I guess that's what happen when you live in the southern US and work in one of the most urban locations around.  Some of the schools around here are downright dangerous.  I'd say a good majority of the kids here have taken drugs, been clubbing and got drunk, had sex, and/or witnessed extreme violence (including murders).  Sometimes I'm shocked about what these kids have gone through.  Luckily for me, I'm blessed enough to work in the best school in the city, and even then it can get rough.

As for school in general..... as odd as it may sound coming from a teacher: yes, it sucks.  Public schools, anyways. The system is corrupt, good teachers have their hands tied behind their backs, and school becomes a glorified baby sitter.  Most kids, from what I see and witness, view school as a place to see their friends and get out of the house.  They just feel as though the cost is in the form of homework as punishment.  And most of the time that homework seems pretty pointless.  LOL

My school is 'suppose' to be an A+ School of Excellence... but in reality it is not. :L
Half the people there are on drugs. People would even do weed at the school's bathrooms so now we can't use the hall restrooms during some classes. >.>
The grading system is horrible! Standard grading system sucks! Almost everyone is failing because of it. :C
There's fights once every now and then....yet, our school was even on the news for having a lot of fights. But... its just that, the school in general is not ghetto but some people that go there make it ghetto. :
Also, they spend a lot of money making the school look nicer....when they could be spending the money in better ways.
I would rate it a 7. ^^

Oh, you kids.  Seriously. I hear this all the time. Usually in much worse spelled posts than yours, I'll give you that, but still. You've kind of tripped a trigger with me, so gird yourself for the rant mode:

Seriously, I understand. I didn't mind school so bad, but I clearly remember saying things like," I can't wait until I can get out of school! I can't wait for this to be over."

If school is the worst thing you ever have to go through, you'll be lucky as heck.

As for the "9 hours in jail for 180+ days and half your life in jail for no specific reason"...well, that's just wrong thinking.
You're going to spend the rest of your life working. If you're LUCKY you'll get a job you love and that makes you thrilled to go to work everyday...but if you're like MOST of the people in the world, you're going to have to pay your time in crap jobs that you, at the best, just find boring and repetitive and at the worst, you loathe with a passion and count the minutes until you get off. Think 40 hours a week, 4 weeks a month.

Now. School sucks. That's been established. BUT the deal with school is that, if you do a good job and pay attention and LEARN the things the teachers are trying to drill into your heads, you MIGHT luck out and get a job you LOVE when you get out. School isn't there to torture you and make your life suck. School is there to prepare you for the rest of your life. Don't blow it off. Don't sluff through it. Don't blow it off. I know that looking ahead is hard for you at that age, but try.
Do you WANT to work in a fast food place for the rest of your life? Do you WANT to have a crappy office job in a cubicle where you do exactly the same boring, repetitive thing for the rest of your life? Don't think you're going to get better jobs if you don't do good in school. The days of flunking high school and going on to become a billionaire are are way over. High school dropouts don't go on to become successful members of society anymore.

And unless you're one of the lucky ones, your parents are not going to be able to pay for college. It's getting more and more expensive. Do you expect your parents to sell their house? Frankly, most houses wouldn't get you more than a few years at a good college anyway, the way things are going. So how do you expect to make it through college? You think they give scholarships to mediocre students? Nope. But you don't have to be the best student in your class either. Usually a goodish grade average, combined with some basic community service type work, will be fine.

I know. I can hear all of you thirteen year old kids rolling your eyes (and yes, I can HEAR it, ok?) I know. I'm sorry for the dad-rant. But really...school is not the punishment that you all seem to think it is. I promise.

I would rate my school 9/10, my previous school was 4/10, and elementary was 8/10, but it's all your own perspective, and my middle school wasn't a good experience.

I enjoy school overall, grades are, normal, to an extent, but I have friends and am generally well liked around the school. So it's all good.

Oh wow, am I like the odd one out who actually liked school? I went to one of two high schools that had a French immersion program so it was one of the better schools in the city. The school was super strict about bullying and the teachers actually knew what they were doing. That being said, I am one of those people who like learning. Just the learning though, I can do without the homework and tests. I think I would like the school even more if the building was newer. As it is, the building's been around long enough that 6 of the teachers at the school attended the school as teenagers themselves. And some of them aren't exactly young. I'd rate it 9/10.

It depends on which school you go to.  As for my school, 4/10.  There's bullying, constant fights, wannabe thugs, and teenage mothers.  The only thing that's good is our athletic program.
