I am going to play as many games as I can and wish all of my family a merry Chrisasmas. On my wish list are a wii u and some game like zombie u, call of duty black ops 2, and Nintendo Land. Christmas? Thanksgiving hasn`t even past yet!!
Anyway I`ll be going to a midnight mass like I have the last three years, then I`m planing to visit my family, maybe even play some music with them.

Our usual Christmas works like this:

On Christmas Eve night, we go over my father's younger sister's place and just spend time there eating and talking. We used to do a grab bag gift-giving time there, but everyone is a bit down on their money (or they got cheap, I actually am not sure which).

On Christmas Day, my immediate family does our gift exchanges in the morning/noon. Then we wait awhile, enjoy our gifts, make a homemade breakfast or lunch, sometimes my best friend will visit for a little to give gifts to us (and us to her) and then we head to my mother's side of the family.

Sometimes it is done at my Grandmother's house, sometimes my mother's brother's house because they both have the big houses. There, everyone gets small gifts for everyone (the aunts, uncles and grandma anyways). Usually it is crap anyway; mom's side of the family is full of passive aggressive attacks and backhanded compliments from our elders. My cousins and I do not exchange gifts but with the exception of one, we are not little jerks.

Last year is when we got Faith, our little American Eskimo dog and she came to both occasions. This time, my dad's little sister has a dog and it does not like other dogs. Faith has never stayed home alone yet, so we are not sure what we are going to do for Christmas Eve. Faith is absolutely going to my mother's side of the family though, whether they like it or not... unless they suddenly decide we are having it somewhere else anyway.

Tamilist : I like having parties with my families. It gives us time to catch up and celebrate Christmas.

Sitting alone in solitude it seems.

Family doesn't care about me and I have no friends in the area.

On Christmas Eve, my family will be going to our cousins house, then after go to midnight mass. I don't think we've done that in a while. Then in the morning, we'll have breakfast, then finally open presents, and the whole day, our grandparents, and some other family stay over. The best part is, the last two years, we had to leave for a hockey tournament the day after Christmas, but we don't have to this year, so we get to stay home for a while.

Going over to my friends house since my parents are in Mexico until the summer, and my brother probably has to work or something.

Sitting at home with my family, eating too much pudding, opening presents, and maybe driving around checking out light displays. Gosh I love this day. lol

So nobody wants to recommend anything to me?

I don't know what to do, and I want to surprise my husband with something really special.  We've never spent Christmas alone together, so I don't want to do anything standard or typical.  And unfortunately, I"m just not creative enough to think of something really cool and unique to do.

All I can think of would be nothing to unique; go to a Christmas mass together, caroling, romantic dinner... maybe volunteer at a soup kitchen or something?

Or you two could just snuggle on the couch/bed and watch a bunch of Christmas movies (new AND old). I honestly do not know what I would do if I was in your position; holidays tend to ALWAYS mean family for me so I would probably be as puzzled as you.

Edit: /sigh This one came first technically, and ALSO it has a lot more substance and better thought out answers than the one in General, probably because it hasn't gotten all the spam that things in General get. Hopefully people will keep it going well with decent and Xmas spirit and all that jazz.

Just do the same every-day thing...Wake up, brush my teeth, breakfast, then to grandma's house, Eat, Come back, Sleep.

Well, Christmas Eve I'm working all day. Our business is open 24/7 so yeah. The good thing is that my relatives who are celebrating Christmas Eve are going to bring me dinner and presents. Yay!

For Christmas Day...or "C" day as I call it...I'm off, but I'll spend it cooking my bottom off and dealing with the waves of relatives who roll through. We have a huge family and they all stop in Christmas Day. I'm not complaining a bit, but it's a busy frantic day for me. When the waves subside a bit we'll drag our table into the living room and have a huge Christmas Dinner, demolish the turkey, and then sit around and talk and watch football and just have a good time.

And then I'll spend the next four days cleaning, hah.
