Pokemon Red and Blue were the first two Pokemon games. They ended up being the best selling games for the Gameboy with the exception of Tetris which was a pack in game for the gameboy. The game is not as good as every one says. It's not a bad game, but its not perfect.
GAMEPLAY B: There are two goals in this game. Goal number one is to get all the gym badges so you can face the elite four and claim yourself the Pokemon league champion. You will fact the final boss and then your done with that goal. The second goal is to catch all 150 Pokemon. All that might sound fun, and it is fun. The game in general is sort of repetitive though, and at some points, like in the cave areas. Pokemon will attack you randomly attack and you can't see them. Eventually as you keep walking in those caves. Those long fights end up happening every few paces. It gets annoying. On the good side however those cave stages don't come by very often. So most of the time you will be having fun. Catching Pokemon is were you will have the most fun. It's really satisfying to catch them. There's just one problem. They can break out of the Poke balls you use to catch them. You can waste nearly 10 and still not catch the Pokemon your trying to catch. That's not a big deal though. If you save up the money you earn from fighting other trainers. You can get a huge stash of Poke balls, Great Balls, or Hyper Balls depending on where you are at in the game. So in general the gameplay is good, but not perfect.
GRAPHICS C+: The gameboy can only produce black and green graphics (black and white if on an emulator.) This game however on the RGR plug in plays the game as if it were on a Super Game Boy. Which is an adapter that allowed Gameboy games to be played on a SNES. The results are not amazing but there's just enough color to make this game really make this game feel like an adventure. The graphics however are still mediocre. Even by Gameboy standards the graphics are primitive. I have seen much more impressive visuals.
SOUND B-: The sound effects are quite basic, but the music is catchy and memorable. It really grew on me, and I never even cared for Pokemon games until now.
ADDICTIVENESS A-: If the huge adventure is not enough, then try catching all 150 Pokemon. Either way the game is addicting and fun to play. You'll enjoy it even if you don't really care for RPGs.
DEPTH A+: A huge world awaits you in this game. It is a big game, it took me a long time to beat it. There are 8 gym badges to get. Each of them is in a specific city that has some problem going on and you have to fix it. Team Rocket is responsible for a lot of the crimes.
DIFFICULTY MEDIUM: The difficulty is balanced. I like that, the game seems fair in every way and anybody can get good at it.
OVERALL RATING B:
