Graphics-10: To start off, the graphics of this game are one of the most amazing I have ever seen especially when taking into consideration that the game was released in 1995 (on the SNES. It was first released for arcade in 1994, also the year I was born Although the graphics where a lot better in the arcade version the backgrounds, settings, and characters are still very detailed! You could especially see how the battle settings were something they really put a lot of focus into. The details the creators were able to put in are what makes the game even better, everything looks pretty much real even the places you know can't be real (such as the places with lava on the ground of coarse.) Another great thing about the graphics is the combos and special effects the characters have! This game is Street fighter and Mortal Combat COMBINED. The combos look hardcore and crazy (in a good way though.) The better the combo the crazier it looks. In the end of a battle the character about to win gets to decide how they want to finish off his or her opponent. Not to mention, the effects on the character are also crazy! There is a robot who looks futuristic, a skeleton that looks real just like the ones you see in museums, of course don't forget a man who is actually made out of fire, and many more!

Sound-10: The sounds are also one of the best parts of the game! Each character has their own theme sound that fits them perfectly, some characters even have voices that I would say fits them just right as well. They each have several different noises they make every time they get injured and every time they perform a combo. Also, the announcer of the game has a deep loud voice which makes it fairly easily to understand and hear. He also announces what type of combo one of the characters just performed. The last thing about sound is the background music, it gets pretty catchy and they seem to fit the setting as well (the creators focused on this a lot too considering they even created a CD to go with it.) The game came with a bonus CD (Killer Cuts) that included the full versions of every characters theme song plus a "secret" track. I was lucky enough to obtain one and luckily I still do.

Addictiveness-9: The game is simply one you will NOT want to turn your back to because it’s fun and challenging! Once you start fighting you keep fighting until you are able to reach the top and beat the most challenging opponent. Other than wanting to win, you will also spend a lot of time trying to figure out combos and most importantly trying to master them. Once you feel ready or feel like you have improved your moves, you will want to get back out there to fight your way to the top (maybe just to beat your record.) I had this game back when I was a little kid and kept playing it until eventually my Super Nintendo broke down, years later (recently) I was looking up websites where I could play it and Voila! I ended up in this website, the only website I was able to find it in (THANK YOU VIZZED!!)

Story-8: If I say the story then I would be spoiling it, something I’m not planning to do! In order to find out the story behind each character and to find out how every character connects you have to defeat the “boss”(defeat him with every single character by the way.)

Depth-6: Although this game is one of my favorite, it really does not have any depth in it. It’s a typical game you will find at an arcade, it was developed from an arcade game actually. The only thing you could do throughout the whole game is fight but then again remember it’s an old game and old games didn't offer as much as the games from today do. This game includes the one player mode in which you fight your way to the top against the computer. It includes the two player mode, (the name says it all) you could battle a friend. It includes a tournament option in which you could have round battles against seven other friends. Lastly, the game also has a practice mode. That is probably where you will spend time trying to figure how to perform combos.

Difficulty-10: I found this game quite difficult, by this I’m refereeing to how the opponents get a lot more difficult to beat by the end of the game and also finding out the right buttons to press to perform at least one little combo. In this game the opponent has no pity for you; it will take so many tries just to beat the "meanest" guy of all. The hardest character to beat is able to pull his life percentage back up and it's nearly impossible to beat if you keep using the same combos and strategies. I guess you could say it's like trying to beat someone that keeps cheating. The other thing is, trying to do one little combo is not so simple. Buttons have to be pressed in the correct order and at a quick pace in order to perform a combo, this is hard because up to four buttons may be needed to do one little combo. It takes a huge amount of time and practice to finally get combos and learn how to use them. What’s harder is that one combination of buttons is not the same for other characters, so obviously it takes even longer to master more than one character. Another thing about learning how to perform combos is that you need to be precise and time yourself and also aim at the opponent correctly in order to be able to perform the combo. You could say that mastering the controls is what makes this game fairly difficult.

Overall-10: The most important thing and also object of the game is the combo system! In order to defeat this game you have to learn how to master combos and also be precise in timing them! Without that you have a rare chance of winning. The game itself is simply amazing, there was so much focus and detail put into every bit of the game! It looks amazing and it also sounds amazing! Every little bit of the game is piece of artwork, hope you enjoy it!

Pretty good review. My only problem is that you didn't give anything in the story to validate why you gave it an 8. I completely understand your reason for not wanting to spoil the plot, but maybe a brief summary would help out.

Still, you gave a pretty good review!!
