Pokemon Shiny Gold is a hack made from Pokemon Fire Red and remodeled its story to be the same as the story of Pokemon Gold has . Same with Pokemon Gold , this game also takes place at the Johto Region but this game also includes some of the Pokemon species from Kanto and Hoenn Regions . This game is also considered by many Pokemon gamer around the world as the hack with the highest quality . Even if this game was released illegally to some online ROM communities by a patch , some copies were made on a cartridge and were sold on many stores nation wide . Because of this , the creator of this game Zel made a note at the very beginning of the game that tells us that we should return this if we paid for it because it is incomplete . This game also features some changes from the original story line of Pokemon Gold . For example : The new trainer named Carlo is introduced with a squirtle as his own partner , and the new method of evolving a specific Pokemon like Scyther evolves by trading it while holding a Metal Coat ( Normal Method ) , but in this game Scyther can evolve by exposing it to a Moon Stone . Another new feature that I really like is some of the Pokemon from generation III ( 3 ) can be obtain here like Mudkip .

Main Characters :
Professor Elm : Is the resident Pokemon professor in New Bark Town of Johto . He will give you an errand after you receive your starter pokemon .
Player ( You ) = You can choose if you want your character to be a boy or a girl . You are your journey to become the champion of the Pokemon League too .
Rival = Your rival is sneaking through the window of Professor Elm's Lab to steal a Pokemon ( Have you noticed him ? ) . After the errand that Professor Elm gave us . You encountered him and had your 2nd trainer battle , he will have the pokemon that has the advantage with your starter . ( Example : If you choose Cyndaquil as your starter , he will pick Totodile as his own starter | Water > Fire )
Carlos = Carlos is a good trainer who battles you first after you got your starter pokemon . He has a squirtle that was the starter from the Kanto Region .

Sounds :
The Sounds were  great . The tune were a little catchy . Sometimes , you will do some humming too because of the melodies . But nothing more special other than that .

Graphics :
The graphics of Pokemon Shiny Gold is great . This is some thing from Fire Red / Leaf Green . But some of the parts were only ripped from Pokemon Gold / Silver like the Sprout Tower that brings me back to the Olden Days . There were also some color glitches that happened , but that didn't ruin my game play.

Addictiveness :
I can play this for ever ! If I can , but when my Mom is yelling at me telling me to Sleep ! , Go Take A Bath ! , or will ask an errand . 

Depth :
You really have many things to do here , after you finish battling the Elite 4 you still have many things to do like obtain more badges , go battle some more trainers and complete your pokedex .

Story :
The story was great . You can go to two different regions which are Johto and Kanto . Some of the story lines from gold was changed too. I really like the story of this game .

Difficulty :
Finally , a pokemon game with a high difficulty ! I really liked the way that Carlos pups up every where unexpected . Like after the gym battles , Carlos will just talk to you and will challenge you to a battle . Some times , this Carlos guy is a pain in the @$$ !!

Overall :
Overall , Pokemon Shiny Gold is really great . It is much better than the other hacks of Pokemon Gold ! 
I recommend you playing this if you want a new experience of the Johto Region !
