I always thought in Star Wars Return of the Jedi, the Death star was blown up but there were a ton of Imperial star ships still flying around, armed and angry.  How'd the war end if those guys were still available to shoot the good guys?

What are your favorite plot holes?

The first that comes to mind is the scene in the Dark Knight where Batman jumps after Rachel when the Joker throws her of a building. But we
don't see him going back and he leaves the Joker in a room full of innocent people. Whoopsie Batsie.

warmaker : There is an answer to that plot hole. In Episode II, it was mentioned that the clones age very quickly so they have a short life span. Also, they were made to follow the Emperor's orders. If the Emperor is dead, they pretty much have no orders to follow, which is all they know.

Here is one I have wondered. In The Matrix, the machines needed humans in this dream world to be unaware that they are being used as batteries. So why would the machines have them in a time where we are tech savvy enough to notice that something is weird about their world? Why put them in a time where there are hackers like Neo who can figure this out? Wouldn't it be better if they were put in the 80's where the population is still very high, but computer technology isn't advanced enough for anyone to figure out they are in a program?

I don't usually like movies with plot holes, but there's the occasional guilty pleasure. I love all of the Saw films, and they are riddled with plot holes. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the question of what happened to Lawrence Gordon's family. *SPOILERS* We find out that Gordon is alive and well, but where are his wife and kid? Did they drop off the earth? Did they leave him? I was really curious about that, and the movies never answered that question.

warmaker : Who's to say the war *did* end? Nothing is yet known for sure about what "Star Wars Episode VII" will be about. We don't even really know who's going to be directing it.

Anyway, in "Superman" (1978) Supes has an extensive interview with Lois Lane. We see the whole thing, from start to finish, every single instant of it. Then we find out that Lois said in her written account of it that Superman told her Krypton exploded in 1948. He never said that. And she didn't fabricate it either because Lex Luthor uses that information to (somehow) correctly deduce that he can find kryptonite on Earth. Furthermore, Jor-El's voice recordings in the tiny rocketship that sent baby Kal-El to Earth had already mentioned that by the time the ship reaches its destination thousands of Earth years will have passed. How could they have missed it??

Anyway, I have Vizzed points out the wazoo now so I think I'll lay low for a while.

Not Sure if this is a plot hole of not..

But in Final Destination 3.. One of them has the usual " we are all going to die premonition" this time it's on a roller coaster..

Obviously this person panics and stops people from getting on it...

The roller coaster was supposed to derail and kill everyone due to a camera getting wrapped around the track... But the person with the camera never got on the roller coaster...

But yet the roller coaster still crashes...  and then vice versa people get killed in obvious ways...

sonicmcmuffin : Ah yes I remember that. If I remember correctly, the roller coaster tracks split off seperetly from the camera bit. So the roller coaster still derailed, its just that some of the events during the preminetion didn't happen.

I have the DVD so I can double check (I'm a big fan of the Final Destination series so I have most of the DVDs).

Now too mine...

I believe that there was a plot hole in the Lord of the Rings triology involving Bromermi's death being found out by Fairamir and the King of Minas Terieth. Last time I checked, Bormermi was on a funeral boat being sent down a current, but we don't know what direction he was going. Plus if I remember correctly, the Band of 3 (Aragon, Leoras, Gimli) went in the opposite direction as where the funeral boat was going.

It was a minor plot hole.

XxChaosxX : "-- but where are his wife and kid? Did they drop off the earth? Did they leave him? I was really curious about that, and the movies never answered that question."

According to the movie, near the beginning (Which I'm currently watching right at this moment :V), she left with the kids for Cleveland, Nya~.

MegaRevolution1 : Hmm. You must be watching a different version of the movie than the one I watched because I don't remember seeing that when I watched it.

Ok, so this has been bugging me immensely since I saw this movie.  The Dark Knight Rises, granted it was a solid film.  Tom Hardy was an excellent Bane, even Anne Hathaway did exceptionally well as Catwoman.  However, this movie has a few unforgivable problems that need to be discussed.  The most unrealistic of these is (spoiler alert!) how Batman returns to Gotham after he escapes the desert prison.  First off we can assume that this prison is located somewhere within Asia, most likely in the Iran/Afghanistan area.  So he escapes this prison, presumably walks to the nearest form of civilization, from there makes his way to an airport of some kind, gets on a plane back to the U.S., makes it through customs when he is back in the country (remember that at this point he has no i.d. of any kind, no money b/c Wayne Enterprises is bankrupt currently), then somehow gets back into Gotham when the entire city is under quarantine by the U.S. military, finds his gear, and luckily has just enough time needed to diffuse the bomb...  Come on now...

For me, I don't think I have seen any plot holes in any movies. With my about 100+ movies, I should have seen one by now. Time to look harder for a plot hole.
