Shinobi was an arcade game released in the late 80s and it got a port on the Master System. The Master System version is scaled down quite a bit, but that does not mean this game does not pack a punch. It has action packed gameplay with plenty of strategy involved. It's a great challenge, but its still fun, I enjoyed every minute I had with this game.

GAMEPLAY A: The controls are responsive and the action is non stop. In almost every level there's 2 floors that you can easily switch to. To gain health, earn points, gain weapons, etc. You save hostages which look like little kids in retarded red suits. You can access special stages, where you try to shoot little ninjas. The enemies also become more and more hard to beat.

GRAPHICS B: The level of detail in the sprites is AMAZING. However the backgrounds can be a little more detailed. The only main reason why I rated the graphics a B is because when you do the boss stages there's little clue that you actually hit the right spot making them tricky to beat.

SOUND B+: I love the music for the game, it fits the style of the game. The sound effects are mediocre, and are usually delayed when they should take place. For example, when Shinobi shoots a ninja star at an enemy, your supposed to hear the sound of it launching, instead its delayed and its a bit confusing weather the sound was there or not.

ADDICTIVENESS A: This game is very fun and addicting. The action will only make you want to play more.

DEPTH C: Sadly there are only 5 areas with 3-4 levels in each, these levels are usually short. You can get plenty of unique weapons so at least that adds a bit of depth.

OVERALL RATING B+:

Tips
1 try to rescue as many hostages as possible because your health bar will get increased and you get the most powerful weapons.
