As you can tell by the thread title, I'm having some trouble with the emulator for the "Legend Of Zelda" game. As I understand it, in addition to controlling which direction you want Link to move, the D pad controls can also be used to select which second item in your inventory you want to use. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the D pad to do anything other than making Link move...

...which means that, right now, my "B" item is currently stuck on the candle, & I have no way to make it change to a bomb, the Old Man's letter, or anything else. :-( If there's anything you can do to alleviate this problem with the D pad, that would be greatly appreciated!

What about the keys for Analog Stick, have you tried those?

TheGreatMouseAvenger : No, that's not true. The D pad only moves your character. There is no way to have the D pad control your movement as well as a secondary function.

The NES emulator allows you to set the controls to whatever you want. Double click the game window and the config screen will pop up. Configure from there.

As you can see on this screenshot the A Button is your sword and the B button is your optional item.

I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure what Analog Stick is (let alone which keys to use!).  Could you please enlighten me?

Never mind I suppose - I thought you were asking about the Zelda game for N64 but it looks like you're asking about the game for NES. NES has no analog stick (joystick).

TheGreatMouseAvenger : My response above should give you all the information you need. the NES has a pretty simple controller layout. See the image I posted above.

TheGreatMouseAvenger :

Pull up the item menu with the button you assigned to start, and I think you press select to go through the items.
