Turok!

I like the graphics and character art in this game. It reminds me of an old cartoon called "herculoids",anyways you get to shoot some soldiers, small dinosaurs, robots with heavy guns and big dinosaurs with guns! How cool is that? Turok is a first person shooter in a 3D lush environment. Their are bushes and plants to kind of hide in, their are old ruins here and their in the outside or wide open areas. The caves and tunnels can get dark so that is something I didn't like. The boss characters are well drawn or pixelated and I just love the concept, did I say dinosaurs with guns mounted on them!
Warning: I feel this game is played best with a cheat code. It made the game so much more enjoyable for me, without it I wouldn't play past the second level.
Overall: 7.5
This game got a couple of low scores from me overall. Although I like first person shooters, I felt this game could be a whole lot better. Even though I like the characters, enemies and bosses this first turok should have had more enemies and bosses. It would have made this game a lot more exciting. The jumping program has a glitch, like falling off a ledge and while falling you can still jump, which is good because it helps with some jumps that look impossible and might take a while to figure out.
Addictiveness:6
This department got a low score just because there aren't a lot of enemies in a short amount of time. Their are only four major bosses in the whole game. Some of the jumps can be quite frustrating which is a big turn off for me.
Sound:8
The music tracks are pretty cool and fit the game nicely. Some jungle beats and animal or beast noise's in the music tracks are cool and can add a little drama.
Difficulty:9
Okay first off The player control and button location can take a little while to get used too. My main problem with this particular Turok is the jumping factor. It's hard to explain but it's like some jumps seem impossible to accomplish, it was very hard just trying to make it through a small series of jumps in the first level. After trying for twenty minutes I finally made it through the small series of jumps to complete the first level.
Story:8
I love the story, their isn't much too the main story, it's the main concept of man battling dinosaurs and shooting enemies is why I gave the story department such a high score. The main concept is something like collecting these items and fighting the main boss so he can't destroy the "lost land", fairly typical which is somewhat boring to me.
Depth:8
Turok gets a high score of an 8 in the depth category just because of the large levels and a lot of them too, I think around eight levels and four main bosses. The boards adds to the difficulty and replay value of the game if it wasn't for the controls it would be a lot nicer.
