Super Mario Bros Crossover is a 100% free game where you go through Super Mario Bros but you can pick more characters than Mario and Luigi.  You can play as Link, Samus, Simon, Megaman, Bass, Bill, Ryu and Sophia, all from different Nintendo series.  While Mario and Luigi do game play classically, the others play in a different style.

The others can't jump on enemies, they need to defeat them with their main weapon: Link: Sword, Samus: Short gun, Simon:Whip, Megaman: Buster, Bass: Omnidirectional Buster, Bill: Rifle, Ryu: Small Katana and Sophia: Cannon.

When you begin, the weapons start at a low level but when you soon when you get a mushroom, (except for Bill) they deal more damage and for the gun people, the range is increased.  Then come accessories which are more attacks or additions to power up but if you get hit while you have accessories and a mushroom, the accessories become disabled until you get a mushroom again.

The accessories are: Link:  Boomerang, Magic Boomerang (replaces normal one), Bomb,Red Ring (Gives a beam attack), Blue Ring (Bomb blast protection) and Arrows.  Samus: Missiles, Ice Beam, Wave beam (Both ice and wave beam can be replaced by each other), Screw Jump, Morph Ball, Ball Bombs and Varia Suit (Protection again fire rods and fire balls in castles).  Simon: Whip upgrade, Double shot, Triple shot, Cross, Axe, Dagger, Holy Water and Stopwatch (The items after cross can be replaced by each other).   Megaman:  Super Arm, Metal Blade, Hard Knuckle, Pharaoh Shot, Charge Kick (You need to slide to use the attack), Flame Blast, Water Shield, Rush Coil and Energy Balancer.  Bass: Same as Megaman's.  Bill: Rapid Fire, Machine Gun, Spread Gun, Laser Gun and Flamethrower (Can be replaced by one another).  Ryu: Shuriken, Jump Slash, Fire Ring Toss, Windmill Shuriken, Flreball Ninpo, Sword Extension and Scroll.  Sophia: Crusher Beam, Hover Module, Wall Climber, Ceiling Climber, Homing Missile and Multi-Warhead Missile. 

But there is a catch, for most of the accessories that are attacks, you need to get ammo when the opponents you kill drop it randomly.  You can also challenge yourself with 5 difficulty moves. The enemies and their hp varies on the difficulty.  You can even do graphic and music changes to a set or mix it up.  There's also cheats to unlock if you complete some tasks like kill 200 fish to make all the levels be underwater. I played this game. Very good game, I got every cheat now and it did have it's flaws, like the game stopping when you reach a flagpole with the timer on, and not turning the infinite time cheat on. But hey, really good. It said that if there are a bunch of supporters, there will be a commercial for this game. How awesome would that be?

Super hard is one hit death where no enemies are destroyable except for koopas, spinys, and lakitus, but their hp is very high on super hard. I used bass to beat the game on super hard mode. XD I needed the infinite lives to cheat to beat the game, though on super hard. I used super easy to win, because you get 10 lives, 1 more ife than what cats have, like bubsy the bobcat on the SNES.

Current version though, is 2.013 or 2.017, I think.I use bass when I try to beat the game, because he has a double jump, and there is a trick to jumping large pits without the floating platforms in world 8-1. Just when you are about to fall into the pit while you slide, jump to the right, and you will be going fast, like mario. Then, you use your second jump to get across, but it won't work for megaman.

This game is really fun. Me and my brother would've played it everyday until we finished and moved on.

I remember running into this game over a year ago! It's great to know it is still going strong, and has a fan base yet today.

Yeah the game is fun to play and really easy with bill and to me the second is better than the first crossover.

I've played this game before, its a fun game. It has all of our favorite faces of the NES era, all pasted onto a Super Mario Bros map. Its pretty fun. Especially using the Contra characters.

Played it before. Had fun shooting things as Dr. Wily for a bit. Got bored. Having new characters made things a bit more interesting, but it's still the same old SMB1 otherwise, and the game itself doesn't hold up that well to me. As in I had more fun playing it when I was 5 than I do now.

I might have to try this once I have some free time as I have heard of the game, but always wanted to play it.

I often play as Dr. Wily when I reached world 8-4. Seriously Dr.Wily Vs Bowser is the best crossover u can fight Just try it out

Nice little review on this game. It's one of the best and we could only wish that Nintendo would EVER do something like this.

They don't want to crossover to much, but fan-made games like these are just awesome. Wish there was a way it could go on Vizzed, that would be cool.  It's always fun to play as Link. With all of the other characters it turns into a battle-like plat former, and it is way too much fun. I'm glad you know of this game. I only hope that there will be an expansion of the version already out...

I argee. This game IS Very good. I've tried it, but I've never beaten it.
