I saw a copy of Xenogears in the mall today.
In the box. It was $50.
I have $70.

Two Questions arise:
1) Should I buy it.
2) If I don't, how long will it be there for?

In all seriousness, what's the game like and about?
I know it's rare, but is it because it was a good game, or only a few copies were made?

i know naught of the sale of games over there, so i cannot say.
i spose it depends on how educated the local gaming population is to determine how quick it goes.
acording to Wiki (ahh, good ole wiki) it was "well-received by critics, with a 91% ratio on Game Rankings and a score of 83 out of 100 at Metacritic"
"It was voted the 16th best video game of all time"
"Xenogears has sold 1.19 million copies worldwide as of March 31, 2003. Due to these high sales, the game was re-released as a Greatest Hits title in December 2003"

Truthfully, I don't think I'll get it.

It was an amazing game involving both Human and Mech Combat. The storyline was amazing and in depth and you get completely captivated by the 2nd disk. If you've ever played the Xenosaga games, this is 100 times better.
It can however be a bit confusing with all kinds of religious and philosophical references. The best description thing Evangelion as a game and you start to scratch the surface.
The man who did the animated cut scenes did the animation for Neon Genesis Evangelion and the creator of the Final Fantasy Saga was the producer. It was full of big name and it was in fact a BIG game. Not as widely known as say the Final Fantasy Games at this time, but it's just as good if not BETTER then all of them.
It's worth the money if you still have a playstation, but beware because last year it was released on the Playstation Network in Japan, so it may or may not come to America on it, which would drop the price down for a while. And then you can also play it the illegal way. So it all depends on how you feel.
