Thanks a lot guys/girls? I appreciate you taking the time to inform me. Ive played a bit of both now and it seems that the engine used to make the games were the same however the story of what actually happens, the locations, and a few other things are indeed different, aka they are different games. 

With that said, I agree with you both, Light Platinum is indeed better. Platinum was not translated well and so the conversations often do not make sense. I will be playing Light Platinum

So just to wrap this up for the newbies, if you have not played any Pokémon games yet, I would highly recommend that you play Pokémon LIGHT Platinum first, and not Pokémon Platinum until a later because of the poor job translating to English.
