I have been playing the NASCAR series intermittently ever since NASCAR 2004, but had recently not played the series for about a year.  On a trip to the video store, I found out that this game was rent one, get one free, so I gambled on the series again and rented it.  This game is actually a pretty good game despite what you would think because it is an old game on a new system, just because it has the simple mechanics that all NASCAR games seem to have.  For example, you still have the Chase for the Cup series that has been implicated in 2006 with NASCAR: Chase for the Cup, but there are other things as well.

Graphics 5:  The graphics in this game aren't good at all, but that is to be expected because the game is from 2008 (Not 2009, because sports games are released one year early usually, except the Major League Baseball games).  The only thing good I can say about the game's graphics is that the way cars look when you customize them is awesome.

Sound 7:  The sound in this game for game play is really good, because you can hear the cars shifting gears and such.  Unfortunately, the sound from the cars is too loud and really annoys me.  The soundtrack in this game is definitely not my favorite, because it consists of mainly country (which I hate) and a little Rock (which I like).  Luckily, the songs are only played in the menus, so since I am always racing, it doesn't matter to me.

Addictiveness 8:  I really now want to look for this game at gamestop or somewhere else because I really missed the NASCAR series, and now that I found it again, I need to get the new games.  This game reminded me that you can lose hours in the game without noticing, which solidifies it's rating in the addictiveness column.

Story 4:  I was temped to leave this blank, but then I remembered you have set things to do in the game, and you also have a mentor that follows you around and helps you progress through the story.  Really though, the story is pretty dull and you will come to find that the game is just as good without the story.

Depth 10:  This game is really deep for two reasons:  1) The Chase for the Cup mode takes an extremely long time to beat and 2) You can keep racing no matter what because there is a mode where you can pick where you race and how the race will perform.

Difficulty 3:  This game really isn't that difficult.  I find myself winning every race and getting the pole on every race in the Chase for the Cup mode.  You can change the difficulty in the mode, but I have it on hard and I am still winning.  You should have no problem winning races and progressing in this game.

Overall 7.4:  Overall, this is an above average game that you should consider trying.  You may find that you like a new series of games.  This is a really good game for people who like the NASCAR series of games, sports games, or the actual NASCAR corporation.
