Urmm since nobody made a review about this yet, might as well do it.
Graphics: 9/10
The graphics are awesome, but can get a little bit repetitive. The enemy variation is good and interesting. Like the comet guy from Yoshi's island and goomba's remake. At first, I thought the terrain from Yoshi's island would be tricky, but it actually works well. It almost makes me feel like I'm playing Super Mario Bros. Z (which, unfortunately, got cancelled) because of the graphics from different Mario games.
Sound: 10/10
The music is very catchy. It starts out as Super Mario World and varies from there on. I can hear the Legend of Zelda when that tornado takes you back to World 1. Whenever I stop at Mario Or Luigi's rest area, I hear New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It brings back so many nostalgic memories.
Addictiveness: 10/10
Honestly, I'd give this an 11. The gameplay is very addicting. I played for at least 3 hours until my battery died. It's just so intense and actiony. There's parts in the game where I literally just run through the stage jumping on koopas or shooting boomerangs that take out monty moles as they pop out of the ground. The powerups are a big reason why i am so addicted. I love how the creator brought back the tanooki leaf. The ice flowers may seem useless, but they're actually cool if you use them as stepping stones. The fire flowers are always as they were (except Luigi shoots them straight through the air) The hammers are a nice addition from Super Mario Bros. 3. The boomerangs are definitely my favorite part of the game.
Story: 10/10
When I first saw this, this is how the story would go. Princess Peach gets kidnapped by Bowser (shocking) and Mario and Luigi have to fight through the Mushroom Kingdom and Bowser to save her. I was wrong. Instead of the princess, Bowser kidnaps the 7 golden statues granting him powers. I liked the change there. It was so much better than the usual kidnaps.
Depth: 9/10
The game is longer than I thought it would be. The levels are huge. Just when I think i've found the pipe taking me to the end, it's just a checkpoint. I have a problem with World 2 and how Mario/Luigi basically skips all of it and there's only 3 levels before the castle, but that's a minority. In fact, i'm only on World 5 after playing for 6-8 hours straight. I especially love the star coins. they add a new challenge.
Difficulty: 9.7/10
This game is HARD. I am very thankful for the save states. I imagined how it would be to play it without them, and I'm just gonna say, I would still be at Castle 3 right now without the save states. I love it's randomness and unpredictability. It just completes this game.
Overall:10/10
I'm a little surprised that this only had about 1000 plays on this site. This is a great game and needs more recognition.
