11/06/2012, Apprenticeships! and other things.

I've just decided that I'm going to start writing a blog. My life isn't too exciting, but my old supervisor Tom and some of his colleagues said that I have a decent writing style,so I thought I'd give it a try.

So, I just applied for two apprenticeships working in nurseries. I won't hear back from them until early next month, because that's when their deadlines are, but I am really excited!

My final exam is on the 22nd, which is why I haven't applied for anything until now.

I guess I'm also kind of nervous, about leaving school and heading off into the big wide world. I mean, I'm not really going very far, I'll still live with my mum for now, but you get the idea.

I really hope I get one of these apprenticeships. The wage is only £95 per week, as it is an apprenticeship and not a real job, I suppose you have to pay for the qualification at the end of it, but £95 is better than the £0 per week I'm currently on.

As for the rest of my day, I came home from spending the weekend at my boyfriend's, and just did a spot of internet-ing and revision for Core 3 maths. I'll probably watch a movie or something later after I've revised some more. And, that is about it for today.

12/06/2012, Shocking news!

So that apprentice I applied for
yesterday  just called me back. I'm so shocked right now. They want me to come in for an assessment and an interview on Friday.

This is amazing news! They must have liked my application to have called me up within a day!

I'll probably add more to this later on, but just.. Wow!

13/06/2012, Cats and a catch-up.

Okay so I forgot to add more yesterday.. My friend came over and we had a little catch up for about an hour or so, then I went back to revision for most of the night.

The only other thing I did last night other than revise is talk to my boyfriend and continue having a cold. He's getting a new puppy soon, which he's really excited about. I am too, I love puppies!

Today, and you might observe a recurring theme here, I am revising. I have a maths exam tomorrow that I really rather need to pass. After that I've got 3 left, on the 19th, 21st and 22nd. Then I'm done with school forever!!

Whilst revising I've been listening to Memory (Reprise), from the DVD version of Cats. I first saw Cats a few days ago with my boyfriend and I've been hooked to the songs ever since. I know it's been out a while, but I just never got round to watching it, and the other day I remembered having always wanted to see it, after seeing an advert for it on one of my old videos that I used to watch as a child, so I asked my boyfriend and he got it for me and we watched it together! He's such a good boyfriend <3

In shipping news, Cats has given me a few new ships to add to what is quite a considerable navy, my main Cats ship being Rum Tum Tugger and Mistoffelees. My favourite cat out of all of them has to be Jemima, she's just the cutest thing ever! I really need to see this show live at some point!

I was going to walk the dogs later on, but its raining, and I don't want to get any sicker, so I guess it's revision all day for me. I'll probably stop at round 7 or 8 and just hope for the best in my exam tomorrow morning.

14/06/2012, Failing exams.

Well I've failed my maths exam. I'm so sad, I tried really hard for it, and I couldn't do hardly any of it. Everyone else found it hard too, but that doesn't do anything to make me feel better. I guess Schadenfreude doesn't really work when everyone else is in the same situation as you are.

My boyfriend, Paul, has promised to watch Cats with me again tomorrow to cheer me up. Knowing him he'll probably buy me something yummy to eat too. He is so sweet. If my interview goes well tomorrow and I get my apprenticeship, I will need to treat him, for all of the times he's been wonderful to me.

So, three exams down, three to go. The next is Chemistry, which I'm actually looking forward too. Even without this exam, I'm already on a C, so even if I do badly, I'll most likely end up with a B overall. I don't think I will do too badly though, it's mainly remembering colours of solutions that I'm stuck on, and I've got 5 days to learn them all.

After that is another maths exam, which is nowhere near as hard as today's one, and then after that is Biology, which I am kind of dreading. It's not so much the Biology, because this unit is okay, it's a lot of cycles and DNA, it's more the essay I have to write at the end of the test, which can be on anything I've learnt in the past 2 years, which is a lot to remember!

Today I think I'm going to have a little rest, and then do some maths, before I go aqua-jogging, which is a lot of fun. Its 45 minutes of none stop exercise in the pool, which I know doesn't sound that fun, but it really is! According to the instructor we burn at least 800 calories per session, which is pretty good!

17/06/2012, Weekend!

I have been in my boyfriend's house all weekend, which is why I missed a few days of blogging. To make up for it we'll do this one in parts.

Part 1, Friday.

I did well in my interview! I passed my assessments and the training centre have taken me on. I have to come back on the 5th for and induction, I think. Between now and then they're going to set me up with another interview in an actual placement.

I went straight from my interview to my boyfriend's house. Going there is always my favourite part of the week. He lives in the countryside, its so nice and peaceful there. We didn't really do much, just watched some TV and played some games and stuff, mostly because we were both tired, but we had lots of snuggles. I love spending time with him, even if we don't really do much, he just makes me feel so happy.

Part 2, Saturday.

Saturday was busy! We got up quite early and went with Paul's mum to her school's Summer Fair to help out. We were in charge of helping to set up the Bric-a-brac stall. Then when everything got going we got to go and wander around the fair. We went to the tombola and we won a lot of body spray, beer and a bottle of wine. There were also dogs there which were quite cute. Then when we came home we watched (and sang) Cats!!

Paul had two big glasses of his wine in the evening and got a little but tipsy, which was kind of funny. I'd never seen him tipsy before then, so it was quite new to me. He's just a lot sillier and more giggly than he usually is.

Part 3, Today.

Today, we went to a dog show! The reason we went is because Paul is getting a puppy, and the family who own them have other dogs, and one was competing in this dog show, so we went to visit the puppies. The one Paul is getting is called Cassie and she is such a sweetheart. She's a Springer Spaniel/Poodle cross and she's black and fluffy. Her brother, Fergus, is such a biter!

After the dog show I had to come home, otherwise I would have missed the bus. And that is pretty much the extent of my weekend!

19/06/2012, Yet more exams.

I missed another day of my blog, but honestly, all I did yesterday was revise. Today I had a Chemistry exam, which I actually really liked, the questions were better than I had expected them to be!

Now all that is left is a maths exam on Thursday and a biology one on Friday, then I am done with school forever! I'm so looking forward to it!

Blogging won't really be very interesting for a little while until everything is over and I get to start my apprenticeship, but hopefully soon I'll have some interesting tales for you all!

26/06/2012, Lots of good news!

Again, I have been away at my boyfriend's house for the weekend, which is why I haven't been writing anything. So, lets get started!

I did my last exam, Biology, on Friday, and to be honest I actually liked the paper. It was a lot better than some of the mock paper's I'd been doing, and the essay question was something I could do quite easily, which was "The Importance of Shapes Fitting Together in Biology"

My boyfriend got me some McDonald's to celebrate my exams finishing, which doesn't sound like much, but I'd been craving it for weeks!

I had a lovely weekend with my boyfriend. He has a new puppy so we spent a lot of time playing with her. We also played a zombie game called DayZ. Well, I say we played.. He played it and I sat and watched him and got over excited.

I've spent Monday and Tuesday waking up late and tidying. I let my room get rather out of hand during my exams, so it's nice to have it all lovely and clean again.

I got a call from the training centre for my apprenticeship earlier and they told me that they had set up an interview with a nursery for me for Thursday morning, which is very exciting!! It's the morning before my prom, so I'll get to tell al of my friends how it went at prom.

I'm so excited guys!!
