Here is a game review of Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest on the NES.

How to play: The game takes place in "Translvania". You play as Simon Belmont, who finds that Dracula has been resurrected, and he has to gather the 13 clues to find him and destroy him. You have 3 lives, you can't get any 1-ups at all, you can continue infintly, there is a password system, the password contains 16 characters. You can earn hearts from enemies, which is currency in this game in which you can use to buy things from people in many towns. If you Game Over, you lose every heart you have, so be cautionous. There are 3 different sizes, small (1 heart), medium (5 hearts), and large (10 hearts). You can earn EXP from hearts also, so weird, but it is kind of nice. You can level up 6 times by earning a random number of EXP. if you Game Over, you lose every experience point you have, but you don't lose any level ups. There are a few kinds of whips, you have the regular whip, the thorn whip, the flame whip, I don't know if there are others. The controls are the same as the first game. You can go into churchs in the day time with a cross symbol on it and you can refill your health there, it is the only way you can refill your health other than from level ups.


Graphics - 8
They look kind of nice, every town has some different colors, some blocks are gray, the designs look good for the NES standards. Nintendo does such great jobs when coming up with graphics. I shall greet the graphics to the 8 column.

Sounds - 9
The music and the sounds perfectly fit with the game. The music is great, the night time music, the day time music, and a few others. I don't need to complain about the sounds. I shall put the sounds rating in the 9 column.

Addictiveness - 7
The game is good for the NES, but I always find that the game seems a little weird to me. Not that it is that weird, but atleast Nintendo is awesome at making video games. I give the graphics a 7.

Story - 6
The story is pretty nice, the story says that Dracula has reappeared, and you go to Transylvania to rid the world from Dracula for all eternity by finding the 13 clues to Dracula. I give the story a 6.

Depth - 9
Unfortuantly, there is no saves. Thankfully, there is a password system so you can continue from where you were. But this game is very long, and it is so confusing that I superly recommend that you use the password system. I give the depth a 9.

Difficulty - 9
This game is very hard, very confusing, and that there are so many limitations to difficulty, but this game is outrageous in it's difficulty! I give the difficulty a 9.

Overall - 7
The game is a good sequel, but it does have flaws, like having no 1-ups, no health items, and a few others. Other than that, this is a good game. If you want to try this game, go ahead, be my guest.

Just a correction, you put in "I give the graphics a 7" for the addictivness. And trust me, this was a bad game to play. The enemies are freaking hard, you have hearts as your money to buy whip upgrades and sub-weapons. Those were some of the reasons why I didn't like it. But another great review Stevie. You probably might get the job, like I said. Just keep on making reviews like this and you should be able to get it.

starwars293 : I didn't know that this was a bad game, I thought it was a good game. Also, it might be nearly ad bad as "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" on the NES.

I've played this game once... Seems interesting...

"What a horrible night to have a curse!"

In the night time to day time, it says this:

"The sun has vanquished the horrible night!"

That is so god dang annoying! I am dead serious!

But yeah, it's a pretty bad game. I also hate the night-day system also. So freaking annoying. I wish you could skip through it

Still not a fan of this sequel of the game. The franchise I have no problem with, but this game shouldn't have been made.

Great game really loved the way it played and the graphics weren't too bad at all, not a bad play at all, everyone should give it one try at some point, it least once, great game overall, just not a 5 out of 5 though.

The game is very fun to play, but I suck at it. I might enjoy it more if I know how to play the game well. Good review too.
