Super Mario Bros. is the most overly reviewed game on Vizzed.com, for a good reason. This game started the phenomenon that is the Mario series. In this game, you control a little plumber of a culture that I do not know. You follow his journey over eight worlds to save a princess. First off, how does he get from world to world? Secondly, how is every world inhabitable? And he does all of this to save a princess, which is later copied reused in a series called Legend of Zelda. So, on Link's Mario's journey, you have to combat the evil boss Ganondorf Bowser a record eight times, which is actually a total of one because it is Bowser and seven Bowser clones. After each world, you get to find one of Princess Zelda's Peach's minions loyal servants, the Toads.
Graphics 7: It is an eight bit system, so the graphics will be bad. But compared to other games, they are about par with them.
Sound 10: I have heard three songs in the game. One of them is legendary. The Legend of Zelda Super Mario theme is absolutely amazing in how it was created and in how it sounds. Also, the "boing" of Mario as he jumps is --in my opinion-- very cool and interesting.
Addictiveness 10: This game is very hard to put down. Whenever I played this game, I would play until I would lose all my lives about five times. I love going for high scores and going for the end of the game (which I have never done without the help of my 3DS's save state function). If you play this game, you should enjoy how addicting this game is.
Story 10: WHAT? I'M REVIEWING A GAME WITH A STORY? While this game may seem like there is not a story, this game does in fact have a story. In this particular game, the story of saving a princess would get a ten, because it is pretty original on the NES platform. Any other game would recieve a 1 for not being original.
Depth 6: There is a never ending part of this game, but it is so repetitive I could not give a ten. Beat it once, then beat it again. That is the only point to this game, except getting high scores.
Difficulty 9: I had a horrible time beating this game, even with the save-stating option. This game deserves to be called a very hard game, which is a quality in games that I like. Only a person who is really a video game master will not have a problem with this game.
Overall 8.4: The Legend of Zelda Super Mario Bros. is a very fun game in my opinion. Even though all you do is jump and shoot things with swords fireballs, it is a very fun and tactically challenging game to play. Not only that, but it is one of the classic games that anyone who wants to call themselves a true "gamer" has to play.
