I just got done watching Pet Sematary and I was just curious if those were actually in real life?  It may sound weird, but it could be true.  I would like to know if there is actually a Pet Sematary in real life.

You mean pet 'cemetary'?
As in, for burying dead pets?
If so then yes.
Theres some crappy rule about not burying animals in consecrated ground. In other words, animals get seperate burials.
People get pets, and especialy with loyal animals like dogs, feel they are familly. And most people want a dignified burial for familly.
They generaly arent managed by churches though, since they dont believe animals go to heaven. Thats a different issue altogether though.

thenumberone : The movie is about this ancient Native American burial ground that brings back those buried in it to life. However, they are no longer themselves. Their body pretty much receives some tainted evil version of their soul.

As for your question, no this is not a real thing. Whether or not it is based off an old superstition, I do not know. But if it were, it is just a superstitious legend. There is no place that brings corpses back to life. If there were, that would be the biggest discovery in history and it would be a widely known thing. The fact that you are asking if this is a real thing pretty much means it doesn't exist. If it did, you would know.

That is one of my favorite movies of all time.  I'm glad people are still watching it.  I was actually just thinking about making a post about it and I came on to see someone else already did.    I CHOOSE to believe that the movie is based on real incidents but I'm really not mentally stable.  Pet Semetary was the first real novel that I ever got through and it's a damn good book.  I would recommend it to anyone.

Yeah I have seen a few pet Cemetery's around here. They are usually in area's that are more affluent. So rich people's pets are buried there.

Jordanv78 : You have more than one ancient and sacred Native American burial ground that rich people use to bring their pets back to life by putting an evil soul in the corpse? Remind me to never live in your town/city
