not all my songs are transferring when i paste them on itunes... and i know what the problem is: it is the file format type, such as .mp3, .m4a and so on.

so, my question is, does anybody know a online program (downloadable is alright, i guess, but only if necessary), that can edit all my music files to the correct file type for itunes in one easy step, instead of only 1 to 5 songs at a time?

Can't you just highlight all the files in the folder and right click?

I'm not sure I understand the issue. It's a lot easier with legal music downloaded from the iTunes store.

Ah. I see. Most of my iTunes music comes from my huge collection of CDs. Is the problem you need to convert the files to mp3 format? If they're already in that format you should be able to drag them into iTunes. If you need to convert, a quick search of google yields:

http://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-mp3

However that looks like it'd be a one file at a time kind of thing. It might take longer, but it's probably the most reliable option online.

A downloadable option seems to be this, which would allow you to convert multiple files at once.

If I'm way off the mark on what you need help with, tell me.

One reason you may not be able to put music on your iTunes is that you got the music from someone else's account. But you would be prompted with a window asking for the other person's account info (email, password). The easiest way to transfer your music would be to use a flash drive. It does not matter what the format of the music files are. It can handle any of them.

tj4bigred : actually, what I need is a file converter. I will have to check it out tomorrow though. I need to go to bed now. I will check it out sometime tomorrow, and will let you know if it helped or not. Fine with you?

AuraBlaze : actually, that is exactly what I did. My sister gave me a whole bunch of stuff for helping her re-organize her library of about 500 books. They have to be a certain way you see. And they are all on my flashdrive. I put all my music in a single file. I went into that file, and copied all the music, and pasted it on the music tab of itunes. But, what came up was just 86 of those almost 250 songs. I can try one more thing, they I will try tj4bigred's idea. If that does not work, I will let ya'll know. Is that fine with you as well?

Let me ask you this just in case. When you go to add the music, do you drag the files and drop them in Automatically Add to iTunes? That should be where they go; not simply under Music. Let me know if you need any more help.

AuraBlaze : Yeah, I did that, and i added them using the folder finder thingy too. But I figured out what the problem was. If a cda file is not on a Compact Disk (in this case, put straight onto my flash drive with out being converter to a mp3, mp4, or m4a file first), then it will not read it. And i was getting ready to rage like a fat women without her Twinkie... *laughing out loud*

I don't know if my plan'll be of much help but I use my flashdrive. I'd save the music from whatever file you got it from originally and make a folder labeled whatever has to do with that music so you know whats what and transfer the actual file from one account to the next or whatever.

catfight09 :
just so you know... I do not need the help any more. Lol... this thread is old... I was wondering why it had not been closed yet. So... yeah. Local Mods : this is old and no longer needed. You can close it if you wish. If I need help in the future, I'll just ask for it to be opened.
