So, it's February 14th again. Saint Valentine's Day. I don't get it really, but I guess it's because I've never truly been 'in love' with somebody. I also feel like anyone my age who says they're in love is a fool.


So what are your plans?

I've got no plans, cause I don't really like this day...
All those happy couples, hearts and flowers everywhere, and I'm still alone...:/ Yes, if I had a boyfriend, then I might like this day, but I don't think that a boy would ever fall in love with me, so it's a bit hard for me to see how everyone is happy and stuff like that...I just don't like that day.

I think my plans for today are to basically enjoy myself.  Perhaps get a few beers and maybe a pizza etc. Or I might go round a friends and just chill out etc.

It's just a pointless celebration of love in my opinion... Just for the shops to make money on the people desperate to show their love through objects.

Osayioniwabo - I can understand the way you feel.  It didn't seem like any girl was interested in me.  Now I'm in the best relationship of my life.  My wife also felt that no guy would ever ask her out.  She hated Valentine's day until we started dating.  I also have a friend that tried dating several girls (I heard about it every weekend), and now he's in a very happy relationship.  So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, be patient; the one you end up with will come along.

warmaker : I think you misunderstood me. I just said "my age". I'm 14, and I believe that no one can truly be in love at this age. Too young. There are crushes and there is lust, but I think people who try to convince themselves that they are in love are wrong.

It isn't my decision to decide the feelings of others, though.

I have no plans per se....it is a Tuesday after all, meaning my girlfriend and I both have school and our parents won't let us go out tonight. I doubt we could work anything out for the weekend as a make-up either with our schedules, but I'll try. It's not that we need Valentine's Day, but it's nice to have a day where I'm expected to brag on her a bit.

I honestly don't care one way or the other about Valentine's Day. My fiancee doesn't either. But I don't know. I decided to do something for her. She is a teacher for a first grade class. I decided to steal the keys for her school and classroom the night before. I went and got a stuffed animal (dog), a card that I personalized, and chocolate truffles. I got into her classroom and set it on her desk for her. It was less for Valentine's Day, and more because I know that it was going to be a very busy and frustrating day for her (setting up for parent teacher conferences), so I wanted her day to start out good.

Well I did nothing...for me it was another routine....but as I watched I saw a whole lot of friends celebrating.....its great celebration though and everyone is happy.....

Well I usually hate the V day...

This changed this year, in the afternoon when my little sis came home from school she did something so unbelievably sweet!

She climbed up my lap, gave me a big hug, and said "You are my valentine today!".

My ice hardened heart melted away so fast right then.  I was so sad to have no one to be with on that day, but I did have someone!  My little 4 year old sister was right there with me all that afternoon and evening!  I still cry when I think about it.

Valentines day isn't just for lovers but for people who you love!  It can be for your little sibblings, children, or any of your family members.  Next Valentines day remember to give a hug and or kiss to those who you love not just your lover!

RequiemHaunt : That is the spirit. I really liked that story. It was so sweet. It reminds me of the time I was about 16-17 years old. My dad was gone before my little brother was born, so I did a lot of raising with him. He was about 4 at this time, and on Fathers Day, he gave me a hug and wished me Happy Father's Day. I didn't know how to feel because it was both sweet and very sad at the same time.

I had Greek food at a nearby restaurant with a great friend of mine. We can talk about anything and everything for hours at a time, and not have it be awkward. That was pretty good, and made me feel better about the commercialized holiday.

When we got back to my place to chill, I saw a message that my online crush had left me. He wished me a Happy Valentine's Day and said he hoped my day was good. That was good, since we haven't had the opportunity to talk as much as usual this week.

I had a fantabulous Valentine's. =) We gave each other a box of candy and gave our daughter a sweet Valentine's Day coloring book with teddy bears, and a little box of cookies that looked like a dog face, that says "I woof you!". Corny, but I like it anyway, and so did she. =)

Anyway that was all for that night, but then this weekend we went on our Valentine's date to a favorite restaurant of ours and made chocolates! It was nice.

Also, a lot of people get butthurt about Valentine's Day because they're jealous and bitter, and I guess I can understand, though I've never felt that way, even what I was single. Everyone on my Facebook was groaning and crying about how much the dislike Valentine's and about how alone they are. And it's like, really? People read into Valentine's Day too much. It's whatever you want it to be. Ignore it, be lowkey about it, go crazy about it. It doesn't really matter. I like to celebrate it because it's silly and fun, and why the heck not? A day of being over-the-top hearts and flowers and hugs and kisses? I can get on board with that. Lazlo and I do things for each other and say I love you multiple times a day, yet we can still appreciate a day designated to love. Valentine's doesn't have to be a day to show love for the first time this year, or to hate Hallmark. I don't know why people make such a big deal out of whether they like or dislike Valentine's Day, haha. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine how everything that actually isn't that big of a deal (Valentine's Day, for example) is often so exaggerated to one extreme or the other.

Nonetheless, I'm glad most of you guys had a good Valentine's, or at least not a rotten one. =)

Me and my boyfriend hung out but we hang out every Tuesday so yeah...And I was sick so it wasn't really romantic and I don't care much for valentines day anyway.
