Sup. I've been a retro gamer for a long time now, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's start from the beginning.


The other day I was chatting with my friend on skype and He told me about this site (he's a semi-retro gamer himself, but he doesn't have an account here). I came an looked around and decided to join.

Back to me being a retro gamer:

I was born in '93, ah such a great decade....but I digress, so I grew up with the two best consoles ever the SNES and PS2. Being a kid having these two systems really gave me a great appreciation for console gaming, the PS2 for it's slick modern games and the SNES for it's amazingly fun simplistic games, I had the best of both worlds. I do own a 360 now but I barley play it. The thing that peeves me about the gaming industry today is that it seems games have to be complicated to be fun, they have to have fully HD hi-res textures or the graphics suck, have to have more than one attack button or controls suck, have to have a gripping prime time drama story or the story sucks....yet modern FPS are some of the highest rated games of the industry today.... I digress ( I'll do this a lot, you've been warned.....), the great thing about the two systems I grew up with is that their game library was at it's core simplistic fun. The PS2 even with it's (then) modern graphics and DVD quality sound still had very fun simplistic games (DMC3, RE4, and Maximo) even it's grand RPGs (FF, KH, and many others) were very simplistic gameplay-wise, and that's why I consider myself a retro gamer, I don't need a game to be a Crysis wannabe to be good, I just need a simple concept that works, is fun to play,  and have a little cheesy humor for me not to take the game to serious (the SNES in a nutshell).

anyway, I have a lot of interests but my main are:

-everything that was on Toonami

-nothing mainstream (for the most part)

-Green Day

Books:
-Narnia
-Lord of the Rings
-H.G. Wells
-Poe
-Inheritance (the eragon series)

You should feel right at home here. Glad you could join us. I do hope you find everything you go looking for. In addition to the Retro game Room (RGR) recommend browsing around the Vizzed Board. You should be able to find forums and thread about all your interests (Music, T.V., Books, etc.), but if not then you could probably make a new thread about a certain topic --just make sure it has not been discussed yet. By the way, rhetorical question. How is VICTORiOUS a guilty pleasure? Any sit-com produced by Dan Schneider is bound to be good.

My sentiments exactly. But some people may find VICTORiOUS a little to kiddie for an 18 year old to enjoy, plus Ariana Grande is hot....lol.

Hey man, welcome to Vizzed. Nice introduction, glad to see that you're one to let us know a lot about yourself right away, no bullclap.
You kinda answered any question I could've asked though.
Just enjoy all our classic game that we have here in the Retro Game Rooms( sadly, no PS2 games since they are disk-based and would take up a lot of space)
Don't forget about these forums, because we could always use a helping hand when it comes to boosting the activity here.

I'm a message board vet....lol, Last I counted, I've been on like 10 overall message boards since '07.....but I've been a retro gamer since '98 (5 years old)

Sweet. Im sort of a new Retro Gamer. Still learning. I dont know How to get a layout or How to become a trusted member though.
