Since there wasn't a thread about this game here, I thought I would start one. Plus I want to know who all played it and such.

So if you played it, tell me what you thought of it and which is your favorite character to have in your party.

As for me, I love the storyline and the fact one of your emeries became your ally. XD Also I'm in love with Albel Nox. He's my all time favorite game hottie.

I played a few minutes this game in a video game convention in my country but it was a long time ago. I didn't have time to try the combat system of this RPG because of one of the rules of the convention which forced you to try the game a couple of minutes but it looked really good. So I read somewhere on a website the story and it's really good. As for my favorite character, Fate the hero is my favorite. Honestly, I should look for this game and do a Let's Play in the future

I've only gotten through part of the game. The first time I played it, I really loved the game. But you have to admit, the voice acting is atrocious and the characters don't act really well at all. I do like the battle system though, and how everyone goes out to fight at once.

Yea the voice acting sucks a bit but still Albel's voice is sexy and his lines are funny at times.

It's Fayt is the my copy of the game. Although it was Fate in most of the manga. XD

Yes it depends of the version of the game. In the PAL version (the european verison, I've only tried this one), the name of the hero is a bit different of the other versions

I played this game extensively. Logged about 300 hours on it. I also had the version where he was known as Fayt.

My favorite characters were Fayt, Maria, and Sophitia. By this point in time I had a laser weapon for everyone and was dealing massive damage. I never did finish the game though. It's very long and very difficult near the end. Enemies who deal easily 10 000 damage a hit.

Very good game and I would definitely buy it again. Aside from Star Ocean for the PS1, this is my favorite one. I suggest everyone at least look into it. I don't remember too much from it so if anyone has any features they would like to talk about I'd love to have my memory jogged

I'm a huge fan of Star Ocean: The Second Story, and I rather enjoyed the first, so I should really check this one out, if even just to round out the series.


Does it follow up at all on Star Ocean 2, or the first one? I loved how the Second followed Ronyx's son instead of just more adventures with the same characters.

I love Star Ocean 3. Albel was probably my favourite from the first time he was introduced. My main party ended up being Fayt, Cliff, and Albel, I think. I wanted to add Sophia but I didn't have enough patience to bring her level up. Also I've only finished the game on the easiest mode so far, so I don't know much about the battle trophies. I do like the battle system, but it has been a while since I've played so I would probably have to remember how to do it. I also liked the graphics, even though I suppose they are a bit dated now. I still like the look and feel of the game. I don't remember exactly what it was either, but I know I liked the music that played in Peterny. Also I haven't played Star Ocean 1 or 2, but I'm pretty sure the game is entirely different characters. I don't think they have any relation to the other ones, but I could be wrong. I do have one of the Star Ocean PSP games though, First Departure? I'm not sure how that would fit in with the other games. If at all.

I played Star Ocean til the end of time and The last hope. I want to play the two star ocean games for the psp but my mom won't get them for me yet. I need a job so I can get them. lol

Is the two for the psp any good?

Leena_of_darkness : I'm not sure how the PSP variety of Star Ocean: The Second Story differs from its original PSX incarnation, but if they're anything alike, it's a game very well worth getting and checking out.

I played the first Star Ocean on SNES a bit, then I bought the PSP remake, and while it's a very substantial remake, I didn't end up finishing it, and I haven't much draw to go back and play it... Maybe I'm biased against it, having played Star Ocean 2 first....

Then again I'm still waiting on her to get me final fantasy 1 and 2 for my psp.

The game is way to easy and also the characters were bad to me, so I didn't really like this game

I keep wanting to try to pick this game up used and give it a try, but every time I am at gamestop there is something else that I wind up getting. So for those that have played it, is it a cool RPG that's worth playing through, or is it just so-so?

My copy of Til the End of Time is faulty since I got it second hand, so it's a royal pain to get to the second disk. I've never beaten Lucien, that's the ONLY final boss that I've reached that I simply never beat. I got to him under-leveled for even the enemies in the area and I was stuck with no healing items, so I just gave up. He would eventually one-shot my entire party with a move that hit everything, so I didn't see much point in wasting more time on it. I was never able to get past disk one again with a more leveled party either, because of the disk damage. :/

I've never played this game.. sounds interesting.
