Following perfection is no easy task and Majoras Mask is the prime example of Near, but not enough.Releeased in the year 2000,Majoras Mask is the 6th Core entry into Nintendo's Legend of Zelda franchise and quite frankly the darkest title to date in the series and the weirdest.Read on to find out why.
GRAPHICS: One of the most detailed N64 Games to date, utilizing the N64's processors to the max and over, thanks to the expansion pak ,which allowed 4MB Extra RAM On the N64 Hardboard. The animations are great but there is some noticeable slowdown sometimes but it's so minimal you barely notice it.
SOUND: Definitely the best sounding N64 Game to date. Re-Mixing the original Zelda theme and adding in already stellar tracks to the Ocarina of Time soundtrack........truly awesome. It's so appropriate to the dark atmosphere.
ADDICTIVENESS: Majora's Mask operates on a time restricted basis, meaning if you don't accomplish the tasks you need to do in the 3 day time limit, you'll have to do it all over again and again and again. But that's the fun part,if you that kind of person.
STORY: In 3 Days, the moon will fall on the land of Termina. A young lad from Hyrule named Link is forced to stop the moon and the Skull Kid from destroying Termina. On the way,Link will meet some interesting characters like Tatl,Tingle,Anju and Kafei.
DEPTH: Majora's Mask is filled to the brim with quests and objectives for all of the characters you chart in your Bombers Notebook. This keeps track of what each characters does at specific times on each day.Its really fun to see all the events for each of these characters play out. The dungeons are huge aswell, but theres only 4 or 5.
DIFFICULTY: One of the harder Zelda's,but its a bit short considering the dungeon count. The time limit keeps you on your toes.
Theres nothing wrong with Majora's Mask,it's just not quite what we were hoping for after the excellence that was Ocarina of Time. Give this game a try.Download for the Virtual Console for only 1000 Wii Points. I give The Legend of Zelda:Majora's Mask an Amazing 9/10
