The recipe for perfection?  Is there a such thing?  And if so what is it?  All the questions are answered in the bible and I will answer them for you tonight.

There is a such thing as a recipe to perfection and it can be in your very own bible.  The book Job 1:1 states " There was man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil."  Now how such an easy recipe can be so hard to make is beyond, but then again there is yet another ingredient that any true worshiper must and that's faith.  Without faith the other ingredient would not mix therefore the cake would not rise and it would go to waste.  We must become perfect in the eye's of the Lord.  Perfection is as easy as being upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

Well, being perfect is easier said than done. Essentially, it's impossible for us people to be perfect in this seemingly simple respect.

However, if you look at it, this description matches that of Jesus Christ. He always followed God's law, feared Him (as in the father), and stayed away from evil (notably, the temptation in the desert). We can try to be perfect in this respect, but no matter how hard we try, we'll never get to how glorious Jesus was.

However, that doesn't mean we can't try. I believe, when we achieve those "moments of perfection," God smiles down from heaven at his children.

Someone70 :   True perfection is easier said than done, but I believe that if do it in Christ then all things are possible.  If we only became more perfect in his sight over the years then when it come time to be judged we have nothing to fear.  Eventually we will be perfect, but you can't just become perfect over night it take commitment and faith and the desire to make a change in your life then and only then can you begin the journey to perfection.

I believe we cannot achieve perfection but that does not mean we can't try to be perfect. I believe we will never achieve perfection(at least while we are on earth) but that does not mean we should not strive to be.

I believe that seeking to be perfect is not only something that is impossible, but also something that should not be sought after. The reason I say this is because trying to know what perfection is requires comparisons to what is imperfect. When we believe we are doing everything that is right, we are sinning right then and there. Why? Because we are using our own understanding of what is right and wrong to justify our actions and beliefs. I personally know that when I feel I am doing everything right, that is when I am most vulnerable to committing other sins.

If we ever believe we have achieved perfection, we believe we are as good as God. Now I understand that this may sound farfetched, but remember that only God Himself is perfect.

I disagree. I believe that perfection(depending on the context) is impossible in the eyes of God. In the verse mentioned, it is saying, not that Job was perfect(sinless), but that he was blameless.

Job was not perfect in the sense that we think of perfect. This word simply means that Job was a just man who followed and served God with all that he had. And no, true moral perfection is unattainable, Benjamin Franklin, who I am sure all of us are familiar with once wrote a list of multiple different virtues which he deemed necessary for moral perfection. After a long period of trying to live up this standard, Franklin began focusing on one virtue at a time, which made his goal seem almost within his grasp, until he tried living up to all of the virtues at the same time, Franklin at this time found out how truly difficult and impossible it is to live in moral perfection. That is why we must trust in Christ to make us perfect before his Father, only being covered by his blood are we truly whole.
