LulzSec, full name Lulz Security, is a group of computer hackers who have claimed responsibility for several high-profile attacks. They, supposedly, have been responsible for attacks on various corporate, government, and public websites, using straightforward techniques. At times they have leaked personal information acquired from their exploits and posted them online for the public to see, including usernames, passwords, email addresses, IP addresses, and more. Their actions have not only drawn the attention of governments across the world; other hackers are attempting to find and expose the members of LulzSec.

LulzSec, however, does not perform these attacks for profit. Their attacks have been made for various reasons:
1) Expose the insufficient security of various websites.
2) Show internet users that their information can be hacked.
3) Provide said users the chance to change their information before it is stolen. (LulzSec makes the information public, whereas hackers for profit will keep it hidden.)
4) Remind people not to reuse their passwords on multiple sites. (I’m guilty of this).
5) Protest government censorship and Internet monitoring.
6) For comedic and entertainment value. (For the lulz as they say.)

What is your opinion on this group?

I think they're pretty lame. Their hackings usually consist of either SQL injections or DDoSing and neither of those require a whole lot of knowledge. If you want to see some real hackers and trolls, check out the GNAA.

They think they're teh best 1337 haxerz evar lulz, when really what they did was lame and unfunny in comparison to AnonOps...
And yes, the GNAA have some of the best hackers on the internet, one of the unsung groups of pro's out there.

I hate hackers.
If they posted my info online to prove it was 'not secure' i would happily beat them black and blue.they have no right to do that.

Just a whole bunch of kids hiding behind computers messing with really simple coding and taking down empires. They are so cool.

big fat cat : I agree 100%. Lulzsec is nothing compared to AnonOps. Most hacker groups hate Lulzsec for calling themselves hackers.

I've had problems with identity theft, so I don't really think it's funny. I don't think any hacking is funny. The fact that I have to have a fraud alert registered with the credit bureaus is even less funny.
