Disregard the thread descr My name is Jase. I am from Maine. I am currently going into my sophomore year in high school. I am going to tell you little bit about my background, interests, achievements and my goals. Background I was born in Wolfsboro, New Hampshire. Shortly after, my brother was born. He is known on Vizzed as ParagonNova. We moved to Maine and have lived here the majority of our lives, only two years in Florida. My everyday activities included going to school (I enjoy my Science class and Algebra class), playing video games such as Halo, Call of Duty, etc., and I love to browse Reddit. I spent my first 12 year of life in Maine before moving to Jacksonville, Florida with my family. I started going to school for my seventh grade experience. At my school, I focused on achieving my goals of doing well in all my classes. Toward the end of the year, I slacked off a lot. I failed the seventh grade because I decided to get lazy. I repeated the year in a different school, because the school district decided that I was in another county, but obviously wasn't. My eighth grade year I enjoyed, more, and passed. Interests I like playing video games. I always enjoyed reading, writing and doing math. Growing up as a child and until now, it has been my goal to become an author or game designer. ----- I decided to become an author because I've always had an interest in reading and writing, fantasy, non-fiction, anything that came to my mind. I would enjoy sharing my work with the world. ------I decided to become a game designed because I believe that I have a fairly decent imagination. I love animating and designs. Goals I hope to get better at my artistic and writing skills.. Five years from now, I want to be headed for a nice college, I haven't decided my Major yet, but I know for a fact, no matter what, I will Minor in Gaming/Design. TL;DR -- Hi, I'm Jase. Wow, Jase, we have A LOT of common interests.
I too am not only writing a series right now, but I also am working on a game with a very distant friend (from Estonia) as well! Right now it's only just us two. He's handling all the programming, and I am handling all the sound, visuals, and music. We haven't made much progress admittedly but we are doing it from absolute scratch and do have other real life things that often get in the way. Do you have an idea for a game you want to create? Or do you just want to design them? As for writing, do you also have any works you'd love to share? Maybe we could trade our writings. I know a good site where you could put down all of your writing works if you love other people looking at them, and it can be shared to anyone who finds it via search tags. Best place about the site is that it is free, and you put down ANYTHING on there -- even children books with pictures. @ the TL;DR. I read your entire post and I see that we do have a few common interests. I do enjoy reading and math, but I had trouble completing school --because I hated work in general. I am in college now. That is awesome that you want to pursue a career in game designing, but also sounds like you are being realistic by making it a minor in college. That is not to say it is a dream you need to scrap, but merely that is shows you are not putting all you eggs in one basket so-to-speak. I wish you the best. Feel free to send me a private message any time you want to chat. |

Wow, so it's just the two of you working on a game? I bet it must be a hassle agreeing on certain things, but you shouldn't just keep your interests in mind for that, keep the intended audience in mind, too. I've actually written a few things, [WIP] for most of them, a couple songs. Now that I look back on them, they're not really what I intended to write. Yes, I would be willing to share one or two of my works with anyone who's willing enough to read them. They're not very colorful, and (in relation to your problems) other things get in the way. There isn't much going on in my life right now, I'm surprisingly drama-free, my sister is in the army, my dad is a stay-at-home D.A.V. (Disabled American Veteran) who is also into gaming and some good comedy, he's awesome. It's mostly just emotional drama that I cause myself with myself and I can't control it. Sleeping, reading, and music are my only escapes from this. By the time I'm done getting over my psychotic-ness, I feel too lethargic to continue on my works, then an idea hits me. Remember to keep your eyes open for things in your real life "distractions" as they may not be distractions but inspiration. AuraBlaze : I kind of laughed at the TL;DR, when I posted it. Self-humor, didn't think many people would get a kick from it, but it was worth a shot . @You both-- I currently have no real ideas as to games I'd like to "create", more of just looking for anything I could be useful in designing. I was looking through Google Images (not smart of me to forget to turn SafeMode to "Strict" rather than the default "Moderate") and I saw this amazing picture of an anime male softly kissing the forehead of a lilac-color-haired female student. I just HAD to draw it. So I did. With my own twists on the image, hehe. Wow, so it's just the two of you working on a game? The story I'm currently writing I've been working on for nearly 9 years; ever since I was 8. I kid you not. It's a bloody long story too. But I love it for that; it's an actual journey and adventure; and a powerful one at that. Sometimes the thought of the entire story actually brings tears to my eyes. But I am a sensitive guy. The game I am working on is based on this story. Being a heavy duty gamer myself, I do know what people will want. We do have arguments, but discussion of such is healthy for the teamwork and game designing as it is. Ironically, the arguments we have is mostly trying to coach the other one to work faster as soon as possible. But since it's the summer time, we're both just taking a break. He is a lot more busier then I am despite it being Summer time, and school completely drained me so I need time to recover from that still. I haven't actually written anything since school went out, but I did plan to begin today, actually. Mostly because the sun isn't boiling me like a sunny-side-up egg today and it is pleasantly cool. I'm not diagnosed, but I am like, 99% sure I have depression. And for good reason. Not much I can do about that though except that I know enough not to stick a knife inside of my head because I know that's just the depression talking. It's odd because it comes at odd times. Somebody could be insulting me on the net and I could just laugh it off. And then the next day my keyboard is a div and won't let go of the Ctrl key by itself (I fuzzing hate wireless...) and I feel like literally smashing the thing against the wall in absolute rage (I don't, or else I would be short of a keyboard and wouldn't be typing this post most likely). I love long stories. I'm also a sensitive guy, but I can hide emotion pretty well. I'm also sure I've got depression, non-diagnosed.
Yes, I suppose it is good to have some good teamwork going on, especially if you have "joke" arguments, it boosts morale. I know what you mean on the school stuff tiring you out -- I'm still worked out from all the work and homework and such. I had a really long story I was working on for a couple years, not sure the amount, and I somehow managed to lose it. I'll probably find it published online somewhere in a year or four.
