As many of you have noticed, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have finally been released! Now with online capabilities, chat, online trading/battling, a fairly long story, and 107 new pokemon, you may notice that the game is even more massive than the previous ones. In fact, the only games that were longer were crystal, gold, and silver. Even so, the poketech this time around has 20 features!
Music:
Simple rpg music. It won't receive any awards, but it plays fairly nicely. However, I did notice Team Galactic's music was really good, instead of the "Gee kids! Team rocket's at it again, oh boy!" Thankfully, trainer/wild/gym/galactic/boss galactic/rival, and legendary battle music plays well and fits every situation they are categorized in.
Graphics:
Although the style is the game, it's a huge jump from one system to the next, and now there's double-screen features. On the field, you have a Poketech, which starts off with the bare minimum of features and then gradually upgrades through questing and events. The 3-d 2-d combination flows really well, and the battles are really pretty compared to before (you can add seals to the poke ball and have your own entrance!)
Overall Concept:
The whole 'gotta catch 'em all' thing will never get old any time soon, and the millions of fans are my back up on that reasoning. It's so addicting that in just 2 weeks, I devoted over 65+ hours of my time playing and training. You also get effort value points in order to show your overall score as a trainer. When you look on your trainer card, you can open your badge case on the bottom screen and actually clean your badges so they sparkle.
Replay value:
To be honest with you, I've never been so addicted to a game in my life (besides Phantasy Star Online)
Controls:
They work well, and seeing as it's a handheld game, it is usually that way with every portable game.
Other Pokemon Games To Look Out For:
Pokemon Battle Revolution!
Coming June 25!
