Of all the people online who works with gaming (be it reviews, Lets-plays, news reports, contests etc.) one of the most well know is James Rolfe playing the Angry Video Game Nerd (originally called the Angry Nintendo nerd). In 2009 he released a four part coverage on the castlevania series as he knew it. It is probably one of my favourite reviews from his series, and it is what introduced me to the castlevania games (Kind of sad, I know yet I know what the games are now, regardless of the source).

I've been thinking...how accurate is his coverage? How do his opinion on the games vary with the people on Vizzed? I have yet to go through all the games on this site, and playing with a keyboard is different than playing with an actual nes or snes controller.

So, what do you think ultimately? Do you think he missed something that should have been addressed? Do you think his opinion of a certain game is different than how you see it? Open for discussion.

Well, when he did that, he had reviewed Simons Quest twice (It was his first review), and his opinion changed since the first time he was raging at it without thinking. A thing that bothers me is when he did Castlevania 64. It is true that it and Legacy of Darkness are similar, but Legacy fixed most of the problems of CV64. I think he chose CV64 because it is the worst of the two. He also lied saying it is impossible to get past the wall (The part with mandragora and magical nitro), he went to the item screen to try to convince the viewer that its impossible. I dont know why he didnt just press the use button to place it though. I have beat the game so I know its not impossible.

Yeah, I've noticed a significant difference between his original Castlevania 2 rant (kinda funny it is his first review from 2004) and the one during the special. A lot of people I talked to mentions how tame his later reviews are compared to most of his earlier ones, but I finds the relatively mature reviews more entertaining.

As far as the n64 games, I never played either of them. If I had to take a guess, he probably tried to emulate how he felt back in the day, as he done for a lot of his reviews.

I noticed that multi part review, it was right, most of the games were really hard, and some were way confusing...but i liked them...except the N64 Castlevania
