a side note, this was when I thought length meant everything... not the case

another side note- this is basically a list of all the things me and my best friend remembered about things we did together in our childhood.

I remember...

I remember,
1st grade meeting my first friend
I remember,
Being there in the moment
I remember,
Turtles, Swimming and having ol' good fun
I remember,
Penguins too, even if they were only pictures
I remember,
Midnight Madness and hanging with my friends
I remember,
moving away that night to Freeport, ME, USA
I remember,
My first day here
I remember,
How I felt
I remember,
I was scared
I remember,
How it was
I remember,
Going to Brunswick for 1 year and a half
I remember,
How awful it was and wishing it would end
I remember coming back to Freeport,
And here I am stay

Wow! My memory must be shot,
I don't remember so much no more
I'm having trouble with my speech and thoughts,
And all of a sudden a meadow.
I've never been here,
But I remember it so clear.
But I've never been there,
Could it be a dream?
I pinch myself,
It's no dream,
All reality.

I try not to worry about the past
Because we are living in the moment.
So I guess it's good
that I remember other things
Riding bikes, Trampolines,
Jumping Jacks, fiendesh schemes,
Monkey bars, Candy Bars,
Looking at the planet Mars,
I wish, I wish, upon a star
I always wonder where you are,

Cross-Country, Basketball
I'll start running in the fall

Johnny Depp, and Carlton Fisk
The Big Papi and the Monster
Hula-Hoops and the Roller Coaster
Soda Pop and the Beatles,
God, I'm so afraid of needles
Pittsburg Steelers, Cardinals too,
Man, now I'm really feeling blue.
American Studies is a chore
But with all chores comes a reward.
Today's tomorrow's yesterday,
And yesterday's tomorrow.
Looking at the future's bleak,
and in the past may be sorrow.
So don't be sad,
Don't be mad,
Just be glad that you remember.

I've changed for the better now but back then i had realllllly low self esteem and didnt get out much i got alot more confidence now, thanks though your words are still very helpful also i know a lot of people that could really benefit from hearing that to so i hope you dont mind me using it. wise words though we should make like a self help thread ( just putting it out there) oh and again ..nice poem

The first sentence reminds of my 1st official poem =D

I sat and watched the 5th graders take their graduation scrolls
As I watched in jealously,
I wanted it so bad. 

I walked on the platform, and got my 5th grade graduation scroll,
And cheered so loudly. 
I got crushed again, 
When I saw the 8th graders receive their 8th grade graduation scrolls. 

I once again walked on the platform,
And received my 8th grade graduation scroll. 
Yet again, got crushed when,
I saw the 12th graders receive their final graduation scrolls. 

I dream of walking on that platform, 
Getting that graduation scroll. 

This is my dream
I will get that. 
I can get that.
