Alright, I have to get back to working out in a second so let me make this as short as I can.
Well thats just it, I lift weights every other day, I cycle and burn a lot of calories every day. I started this three weeks ago I am down 7 LBs now and continuing to drop. I eat under 2500 calories a day, granted not always watching what I eat so much as I am just counting the calories. However I had a professional tell me at this stage it doesn't matter so long as the calorie count is down. Anyways I eat bananas to keep my sodium level countered so I don't get over thirsty. I have s3x no more then every 48-72 hours etc. I am constantly tired, fatigue surrounds my life for the past 6-7 years. I am 20 years old and working at getting back into amazing shape for the next boxing season. I study for school, getting almost have a new girlfriend who I am dating right now, what is the problem. I am setting up a doctor's appointment to see if there is a medical problem right now like hypthyroidism or something along those lines but I doubt there is. Yeah yeah clinical depression is a possibility and I will ask my doctor about that, however I am a very spiritual person and constantly aware of my mental state and tend to be very happy. Any suggestions, its really getting overwhelming. I want my energy back, I want to be able to have naturally without having to try so hard to find the energy to go surfing for a couple hours. I am tired when I fall asleep, I am tired when I wake up, I am tired when I am in class. I get 7-9 hours of sleep every night. I feel like I can sleep for a week straight and still be tired when I wake up. Well thats just it, I lift weights every other day, I cycle and burn a lot of calories every day. I can agree with basically every point you've made...with no solution for myself. I suppose it's only a matter of circumstances bumming me out--so I hope that whatever I'm aiming for towards happiness will come to pass, but it's just not there yet. Dunno, maybe it will, maybe it won't, but I'm not losing hope...ultimately, I'd like to be Raptured away from here...you say that you're spiritual, might be that you're just homesick for heaven (that's my conclusion). |

tRIUNE : I figured this might interest both of you. The first thing is that I heard (possibly from a Dr. Oz commercial) that watching TV or being on a computer right before going to bed can reduce the quality of your sleep. I actually stayed up an extra hour one night to work on homework and I still slept a lot better. I felt more rested after that than I do when I go straight from TV to bed. I decided to check WebMD and found an article with tips to get a better sleep. http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/guide/10-tips-to-get-better-sleep Hope this helps. tRIUNE : I figured this might interest both of you. I've done training for all sorts of competitions. When you train, lift, run, and work hard every day, your body breaks down. You need a day of rest after 2-3 hard training days so your body can heal and recover. You get better on the day off, not the days of training. That's when you develop all that strength and health.
Start taking off two days a week. I promise you'll feel better, you won't burn out, and you'll see the effects of training much more quickly. Good luck! Start taking off two days a week. I promise you'll feel better, you won't burn out, and you'll see the effects of training much more quickly. Good luck! |

You're probably tired because you work out on a normal basis. Your body is draining all the energy away from you. Everything you eat, you burn it up. Your body needs food to produce energy. Maybe you have a high metabolism. So basically you burn calories faster then the normal person. When i was your age, I had a high metabolism, but within a couple years it dramatically slowed down. Otherwise you could be depressed, that may cause you being fatigued. Do you get drink a lot of caffine? Crashing on caffine could possibly make you tired throughout the day. The last possible thing could be a sleep disorder. I'd check in with your doctor again and explain your symptoms with him. |

If you're stressed then that can cause a feeling of tiredness. There is physical and mental stress so even if you're happy you can still be stressed. If you're working out make sure that you take 1 day off to rest, like a sabbath day. |

I agree with what others had to say, with taking time off 1-2 days a week if allowed flexibility in your schedule to sleep, or relax. Continue doing what your doing, but make sure you are also unwinding. Stress, if might not think its affecting you could simply bee the problem. Maybe both physical and mental, look up some exercises for stress relief, or do things that would do it for u. |

I watched and seached on this subject because I also had this problem I found that the sleep cycle starts every 4 hours and that if you get to bed and start sleepin at about 8 pm and wake up & an even number hour then you will sleep better than going to bed at another hour because the sleep cycle starts over & 8 then again at 12 and again & 2am then 6am again and soforth every 4 hours I watched and seached on this subject because I also had this problem I found that the sleep cycle starts every 4 hours and that if you get to bed and start sleepin at about 8 pm and wake up & an even number hour then you will sleep better than going to bed at another hour because the sleep cycle starts over & 8 then again at 12 and again & 2am then 6am again and soforth every 4 hours |

Gee, that is a tough one. You sound like your getting everything you need everyday.
You say your spiritual? Maybe I can make a suggestion... Since you are so aware of your mental capabilities and positive energy (as you say), why don't you trick your mind into not being tired? You know the one trick when you aren't quite awake and feeling groggy negative, you pretend to laugh even when something isn't funny and you just wake right up? That's the way how one can trick the mind. The mind knows your laughing, but it never knows what your laughing at or why, so the brain stimulates that something is funny the same way if there really WAS something funny, and you feel better. ...well I'm not suggesting laughter is also the key to your issue here, but if you need humor in your life do that. But what I AM suggesting is to trick your mind into pretending that you ARE awake, and how the 9 hours of sleep you got IS the right amount, and how your body is just being a LAZY good-fer-nothing body that's just slowing you down all the time! Just think that you really do have a great life (as you seem to have in your descr I hope that helps, because it certainly helps me when I feel groggy and negative. You say your spiritual? Yeah, I do all that I always spend an hour before sleep watching TV, or just sitting around doing nothing to relax and calm down and try to reduce stress as much as possible. Could still be a medical condition which I have an appointment for, so that might be the case. No working out has nothing to do with it, that actually helps you to sleep better, and I only lift weights every other day to give muscles time to recoup, and my calorie intake is perfect right now. 2500 which is right for losing 2 LB a weak with burning 1800 calories a week. Could always be emotional, but I wouldn't think so, as me and my friends get together to go surfing etc and spend time talking about life etc. Sometimes I feel like I spend to much time inside studying/working on the computer which can have a small effect, but I feel I counteract that enough with activities etc. |

sdutop : I've known 2 people recently which were both 20-30 years older than me that have told me when they were about my age, they had this meditation trick that they'd do for about 15 min. which would give them the recuperation of a full night's sleep.
They said they did this meditation trick for about a week at a time in order to have the functionality needed for their work schedule...I believe it...yet, I don't understand how it's possible. Drink more water. Dehydration destroys your energy, and with how active you are you probably sweat a lot. You may not think that you do not drink enough, but give what my chiropractor suggested a try and see how it helps:
Take your weight, divide that in half. That is how many ounces of water you should try to drink every day. You will sleep better and have far more energy. Take your weight, divide that in half. Tell your doctor about being tired after you wake up. The medical field calls it fatigue not relieved by rest. There are many things it could be hypothyroidism is one, an REM-sleep disorder is another especially if you have very life-like dreams. If you have a web-cam you may be able to detect a sleeping problem yourself. I used mine the same way, in the morning you can play it back and see if you are constantly tossing and turning or making other weird movements (warning: you will probably see weird eye movements-these are actually quite normal). I am a little worried that you are probably not eating enough for your exercise routine and may be exercising too much. If you continue exercising without giving your body a chance to recover (aches from last workout are gone and you take a breakday inbetween workouts) you may develop overtraining syndrome. Unfortunately these are just ideas no one can tell you whats wrong without looking at you. |

I have the same problem, kinda, but it's because I stay up way too much!
I suggest going to a doctor if you're literally tired too much. It can be worrisome. I suggest going to a doctor if you're literally tired too much. It can be worrisome. |

well from an a grade psychology student which actually isnt much of a status i'd say you seem to have a source of stress in your life as you never used to be tired and therefore wasnt BORN with high dopamine or low serotonin i wwould say that maybe an emotion focused AND problem focused method could help you out, you could enrol in cognitive behavioral therapies in where yo uwould see a therapist and identify your source of stress learn ways to relax to make it seem more controllable and learn ways to combat the very source of the stressors you the napply them to real life, if people tend to FEEL weak then you give up and asfter long periods of stress (chronic) it affects your immune system and can cause depression and failure to function adequatley alternativley you could take certain drugs to alieveiate the symptoms for a while, i think you either have to take benzodiazepines or the opposite to it. Thats all i can tell you i dont know much else i just rememebr you show all the systems for high chronic stress. hope you find a cure good luck |
