Ok, so this thread is for anyone to post about doing something lately that shows how your living up to your Christian standard. This is not a place to gloat, or to show off your good deeds, but a thread that anyone can read to see what Christian duty means to others, and how they show it.

My dad goes to a Christian health center to get treated for his diabetes. He regularly goes to get treatment, and while hes their they pray with/for him. I found out last week that their actually in need of volunteers to have conversations with some of the elderly who have no family, and to help them get around the facility. I signed up for it, and the other day I went. It was actually a slow day, and it was getting late without anyone really coming in. A little after 4 however, a woman came in that I will refer to as Ms. B. She was a sweet woman, that after talking to I found out only had a Grandson left, but he lived somewhere on the east coast and never visited. She talked to me about 30 minutes before the doctor came to get her. I continued waiting till around 5:30 before I started to leave, and I saw her coming out of the office. I walked over and told her I was on my way out, and if shed like me to accompany me to her car. She smiled and said she would appreciate it. I helped her to her car, where she thanked me for helping her and for the earlier conversation. I thought I would break into tears when I watched her open her pocketbook and tried to hand me a few dollars. She said that a woman her age doesn't get to many pleasant conversations, and she thought I deserved it. It really got to me because the people that attend the clinic have very little money, and here she was, trying to hand me what little she had. I declined the money, and told her It was as pleasant for her as it was for me meeting her. Its moments like that that make me wish I had spent more time with my grandmother, and how im ashamed knowing that I on occasions avoided my grandmother. I pray that Ms. B gets better, and that her grandson gets a reality check and comes to see her.

I feel that this thread can be a bit too broad. Christian duties can be defined as so many things, but ultimately they are things that pleases God, that God commands Christians to do, and to form a better relationship with God (Christians already have that relationship with God) This could include soo many things, like sharing the gospel, devotion in God's Word, reach out to the poor, show God's love to others and make it know that love is unconditional, etc. Different types of Christians have different types of duties as well, fathers have the duty to raise up a godly family, pastors are to tend the sheep of the church, etc.

If you are viewing Christian duty plainly as something nice that you did today, that is not what Christian duty is.
