This probably does fit in Computer Forum, but feel free to move it to Help if it will get more attention there.

My computer screen has taken to flickering occasionally. It's not flickering on and off. It's more like colorful horizontal lines (possibly of jumbled pixels) are appearing across the screen. It happens more often when the screen is displaying a darker page or window. A layout with a completely black background triggered it once. It's been happening more often and more drastically lately, so I figured I'd post about it to see if anyone has any ideas. Yesterday, almost half of the screen got jumbled. I thought it was going to die right there.

I think I've had this laptop for about a year and a half (more or less). It's running Windows Vista Home Basic. From what I've seen, this is an issue with the actual monitor. It's not a problem with Vizzed or any other specific web site or program.

Any legitimate tips are welcome, but please do not post with a message like "Uh, it sounds bad, but I don't know what it is. Sorry I can't help." A message like that serves no purpose other than as spam for a free post. It should go without saying, but a thread like this can lure in users who want a free post.

EDIT: I have since updated the driver using the official NVIDIA site (maker of my screen). The problem persists.
