Do you have any idea when you are going to open this back up? I have a few good ideas, and I would like to know when I need to start saving up my Viz so I can have my own forum. Been meaning to for awhile now.

Davideo7 : Is there anyway i can buy icrazy's forum.. I generically have the same idea. But I'd rather go about it in a different way... I've got the Viz available for it. Plus it's been inactive for about 3 months i think. So has icrazy.

sonicmcmuffin : I think icrazy should be emailed about it, if he dosent respond within a month or he aproves you should be able to buy it, especially given no ones using it.

Davideo7 : yeah that's fair enough... I just want you to know of my intentions anyways. It's a shame really because before he became inactive he said he didn't mind in chat if i remember correctly... Either way... Is their like a set time limit for Purchased forums to be closed or perhaps sold.... 

Sorry I've just been encouraged to keep this idea going as i made a few My little pony layouts... I think i made them roughly 1-2 months ago and I've already sold 21 of them.. Which I'd say is pretty good.. Shows that their is at least a target audience that actually may use it

Seriously I'd like my own forum I already have 2 other people that really want to do this as well. I know that you have way more important things in your schedule and of course I respect that... I'm just really eager and excited about this idea..  Also I have a fear that if I just let this run it's own course other people will get their proposed forums, even though I've been preparing for mine for a while.

So I was just wondering is there anything I can do to prove that this thread won't just become inactive like others... Like I can write a list of thread's I want to create... maybe a list of people that would be interested in it as well?


Anyways I am really sorry about the summon and I hope you see this as my enthusiasm to make another successful forum. And not some irritating nagging moron who won't shut up...

Davideo7 : Is there any time frame in which we could expect this to be re-opened? Is there a particular reason why it is closed? 

Ktanaqui : I don't have a time frame. It was closed for 2 reasons:
1. There are currently too many sub forums
2. I got too busy to do it (since it all has to be done manually)

You should probably make renting forums have a monthly charge. Not a very high one, maybe something like 2500 Viz per month. Just enough that you have to actually be active to keep your forum, but not so much that you have to worry about making the rent.

Actually, that could be pretty cool. It would keep the rented forums fresh and actually give some meaning to collecting Viz.

I have to say that I very much so like the idea of making Rented Forums have monthly charges. Doing this would also cause the value of Viz to be upped, too - because there would be a way to push it out of the system. You could still keep the initial fee of buying it too. Kind of like the initial fee would be buying the lot (if you were talking property) and the monthly fee would be for power and whatnot. You could lock forums that have not been paid for until they are and if they don't get paid for after a given they, they outright get deleted. It would solve this issue of having too many inactives while there being people who /do/ want to rent a forum.

You could hire somebody who knows how to do the coding to do the coding for you and then send it to you - all you'd have to do is simply add it in. (Shoot, anybody with a little common sense could do that... even I, who can barely code. I'd just need a copy of the coding for one of the existing forums.) I'm sure there are plenty of players who would like to help.

Ktanaqui : I do plan to eventually automate the process of renting forums. Basically users could go to a special page where they can buy and manage their forum.

Ktanaqui : As good of an idea as that is--Having someone else do it, that is--Davideo likes to do all of the work himself. This is nice because he knows everything about the code and can easily read his own work to find problems, although it does increase production time for things like this.

Lazlo Falconi : Quality over quantity is definitely better. I suppose that for quality, it's worth the increased production time.

Although I have not got the Viz for it at the moment, when there are open forums, I would like to try an RP forum. Pokemon is what I know best but I would like to eventually increase it to cover various things while possibly including things that don't exist maybe? This would be a fully-mapped out thing, with a crapton of detail and work.

Couple of ideas in my head for this:
- Set it up so the "in-character" currency is tied to Viz enough so that people can turn in-game currency in for Viz (to me) to encourage players.
- Currency could possibly be rewarded based on quality of RP posts.


I'd like to see effort actually put into something for a change... By everybody involved. I know this offer isn't open at the moment but I just wanted to let you know that I plan to try this.
