If you've played Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core, then you should definitely know about Zack and Cloud. If you've seen the end of Crisis Core, you know that Zack dies, but if he didn't die, then would he be a better fighter than Cloud?

I don't know really because I think Cloud is strong due to the fact that Zack died and him wanting to become stronger for Zack, so then if Zack didn't die, Cloud might not be as skilled as now. But Cloud has amazing moves, like my personal favorite the Omnislash. And these two amazing fighters both have fought tough opponents like 1st class SOLDIER members.

So who would win in a fight?

This is really a tough question. Most "fanboys" will probably side with Cloud. But, I'm gonna side with Zack.

Genesis, and his large as hell god form. I don't see Cloud beating him on his own. Cloud needed a party to beat Sephiroth (except in the final scripted battle), Zack handled everything on his own. He rarely had assistance, and when he did, it was only to save him, not to assist in battle.

Zack>Cloud. That is my opinion.

If he could take down Sephiroth there's no one he couldn't beat
plus EMERALD Weapon was the hardest boss ever and Cloud downed it

I'm a fan of Cloud. I really am.
But I'm a fan of Zack too, and I have to go with Zack on this one, because loyalty to characters has nothing to do with this.

Looking at Cloud, yes, he is one tough chocobo. I mean he kicked Sephiroth's butt with all those different forms of his, beat him again in Advent Children, beat him back in Nibelheim when Zack needed his help that time, lived through incredible mako poisoning... twice, or something. Omega weapon, emerald weapon, ruby weapon...

Oh, but most of his battles were fought with two other people. Or an animal... or a stuffed toy on a robot. It's okay Cloud, you're still cool.

Then there was Zack. All his missions he fought alone, kicked Sephiroth's butt, kicked Genesis's butt, kicked Angeal's butt, kicked Wutai's butt, kicked MINERVA's butt (and when Minerva is a Goddess or something and Zack Fair beats her on his own with only so much materia), saved Cloud...

I mean what would things be like if Zack was still alive? Who would Cloud be then? Would the hero be Cloud, Zack, or both? Because if you think about it, Cloud only became a hero because Zack died. Who knows? Maybe if Zack still lived, Cloud might have ended up as the hero anyway.

Raine : The questions you asked make me wonder too. Would Cloud even be a hero? I guess he wouldn't because the only reason he became a hero was because of Zack. Either way, I still love them both. <3

This is an easy decision.  Cloud was never an actual SOLDIER member.  He is nothing but a failed Sephiroth clone.  True this gives him certain super human powers, but he was never as powerful as Zack.  Zack was not only good enough to make it into SOLDIER, but he was trained by one of the SOLDIER elites, Angeal.  Cloud never even made it higher than a low class infantryman.  Then you look at Advent Children and Crisis Core.  Cloud took one bullet to the back and died. (true he was brought back but still)  It took dozens upon dozens of bullets to finally take Zack down.  Cloud is good, but Zack was the original bada**.  If Zack had survived, he would kick the crap out of Cloud.
