I have had a studdering problem all of my life, usually when I am talking too fast or otherwize just out of the blue. I never knew how common something like this could be, so I figured I would ask to see how many other people on Vizzed have issues like such.

If you would like to share with everyone feel free, or if you have any other bad habbits that are similar to studdering that you find irritating or are curious about, and would like to share, then post it here!

Oh yeah. I stutter like you wouldn't believe. When I try to talk my mouth will sometimes move faster than my brain can process things. So I'll often say things and they'll come out in a st-st-stutter.

When I was younger (whatever age I was in 6th grade), my teacher at the time felt that I needed to go to the speech teacher because I studdered/had problems with the "s" and "z" sounds. Two years of speech later, my second speech teacher declared that the only thing that I have is nervous energy. I guess from storing all of my energy most of the time that when I do decide to talk, everything is all fast. I think it makes sense. Plus, I have a little bit of a diastema which was probably the major contributor to the "s" and "z" thing. I do feel a bit nervous when I need to talk in class or to someone that I don't want to talk to so that also definitely has an effect on my speech.
