This is the scenario.

Your fighting any boss and some time during that fight, you either have very low health and/or have low ammunition, specifically the one intended for the boss, but some how, you manage to get a win. Have you had any experiences like this?

oh yeah. Happens to me all the times in RPGs. Mostly because I do the least amount possible to beat the game the first time around. I will have too little health and items yet somehow manage to pull a win out of nowhere. Like in Final Fantasy 10 (easy enough) I was facing Jecht with about 50% the health my friend used to beat him. And he barely managed a win himself. I just did not powerlevel like he did. I ran away from some fights just so I could progress the story. I beat it, so I'd say it didn't matter to me. But the Jecht fight, my party was dead. 4 of my team were dead and I hadn't yet revived them, and 2 of my characters had something like 120 health, the other one kept getting lucky...

I have had this happen all of the time. I don't like it much because if you do loose you are like I WAS SO CLOSE!!! then if you win it feels even more satisfieng.

It definitely happened to me on more than one occasion. Playing God of War 3 on chaos mode against a Cerberus Breeder and two Satyres with little magic and life left but, still defeated them with blocking and dodging, was very time consuming. I also had problems with Zeus too because he had more clones out while he chucked lightning bolts out from afar. It was tough for me to keep him from draining energy from Gaia's heart but, by switching from the Nemean Cestus and Nemesis Whip I was able to repel the Zeus clones as well as beat down Zeus. I also had several close calls with Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 with all the bosses on Mentor mode since most hits deplete a metric buttload of energy as well as the use of my Ninpo however, I still beat the whole game and received cool costumes at the end. My heart seems to beat a lot faster during those moments but, seemed super happy that I finally prevailed much like everyone else when they game in those situations.

I love those kinds of wins. Where it's a sort of all or nothing last shot at killing the boss.

You break out your last big spell or attack and get lucky enough to kill the boss. More often than not this results in me losing... but I have gotten lucky a couple times and killed the boss with that last effort. No MP/mana left and no healing potions/items either.

I find boss fights in most games aren't this well balanced though. I find that I either demolish the boss with little risk of losing or I get destroyed because I'm 2-3 levels too low.

zillamech548 : Yes this has happened to me at the end boss. The whole time I thought you needed the hook shot and the light arrow. So im fighting the boss and I ran out of magic to use the light for the arrow!I thought I was screw! So I went for it anyway casue I had no choice...went in the back of him and hit his tail...next thing I know he dropped the floor dead and i beat the game!!! it was definitely a WTF moment! LOL
