Okay, so this all started for me when Gamecrazy closed down in a city away from me. I was a regular there, and could mingle with the people there with ease. I witnessed my first release day pre-order pick-up at a gaming store at that store when Super Smash Bros. Brawl came out. I was so happy that day. I bought two Lost in Blue games at this store. I bought a Gamecube controller, Animal Crossing for Gamecube, and even a memory card for a bargain there. I have so many good memories of the place.
I blew all my money on about five games. All but one was used. It was an amazing day for me. It was like the day I bought my very first good quality skateboard. I felt so happy, and just was overjoyed. That store has been in my life for so many years. I have bought so many amazing titles there. I have gotten Rogue Galaxy, Shadow of the Colossus, and even Jak 2 and 3. I had a broken game one time that I bought there, and the guys at the store fixed the game. It was Spider-Man 2 for the PS2. They tested it, and it worked beautifully.
I will miss that place. The people were great, and so nice. The guys who frequented it were a bit geeky, yeah, but I'm a geek, and proud of it. I would always ask my mom and dad if we'd go there just to look around. The day I heard it was to close, I was heartbroken. That place was important to me. It was like a place where I actually could socialize, and communicate. I have problems with that kind of stuff due to having Asberger's. That place was so uplifting for me.
Luckily, I've got a new place to be a nice little girl at. It's a local gaming shop. I even plan to work there when I'm able to drive for a bit. The minute I opened the door to the place, and walked in to buy my first M rated games in my life, which was such a huge deal to me, I felt the same magic come over me. Actually, I felt like I was in a new place that my imagination made just for me, but it was a dream I never knew existed. The store sells games for old consoles, and new consoles. It has a great staff, and the place, while a bit cramped, is just like a hunting ground for me.
The two games I bought there were Silent Hill 2 and Shadow Hearts. Both great ones, and both ones I highly recommend.
So, anyone else got any stories on gaming stores? I'd love to hear them.
