Actually, I first thought about it during the first week, that I watched the 1st pokemon episode. The only better thing in pokemon is that pokemon fights are less cruel and fighters usually end up to become friends.

I really don't think so. Noelia is right. Plus, the Pokemon actually get their health restored, dogs and chickens don't

No i dont think its quite the same as dogfighting and such. For one, its a fictional game with fictional creatures. Second, like stated above its a child's and teen's anime so the battlers usually end up as friends or on good terms. Third, yet VGG made the point that the Pokemon get healed and all spiffed up after the match. Fourth, i highly doubt that the intention behind Pokemon when it was created was to promote underground animal fights. Fifth, this really has no basis since in the dogfight videos they are attacking each other quite viciously. In Pokemon, blood is rarely shown, and most attacks leave fictional, dramatic effects. One example is the many times Charizard fires a Flamethrower at Ash. All it does is make him slightly darkened and crisp-looking. They don't condone or show actualy violence in the shows or games. Like i said before, no blood is spilled, and the most we see are scratches and light marks across the body.

true Pokemon is different from cockfights and dogfights after the battle the pokemon get healed like nothing even happened then if you lost train up until you are a high enough level and take out your opponents Pokemon and you win.

I read that the makers of the game made sure as to not have the Pokes die since there was already plenty of death in video games and they didn't want to add to that. I think it's better for the kids. They don't ever die, and even though it said KO, the kids still say "Ha, I killed your Pokemon!" They get the satisfaction of "killing" an opposing partner when in actuality, the sprites are safe!

yeah i am glad because the kids have something fun and safe to play the characters don't die they just keep getting healed after fights they maybe don't have any death in the game because it could make the kids cry and they don't understand the meaning of the word which would be the event of dying or departure from life that could make them sad i mean how would they feel if their pets died and its like you just lost a best friend.

That is very true Norman. However i think there might be a larger problem at hand if a child gets THAT emotionally attached to a video game character. There is a difference between loving a game for its quality and the value in playing it. When you become obsessed and think that game is real, or feel pain from events in the game, then it is a different problem. So while Pokemon is a safe game, since technically nothing dies, the fact still remains if the child becomes that attached something is wrong. And besides, there are a ton of times when kids have pretend games and claim they "killed" you. When you were young, did you ever play a game of fighting or 'war' with your friends? You didn't have "bazookas" and other weapons? So its a different context since a game itself is presenting it, the idea is still the fact that the kids are learning it from various places. Places like television, radio, music, cartoons even. Batman and Superman fight and beat up people. Sure they don't kill, but a few movies they seen might have. So yes Pokemon is the "safer" equivalent of the marketing presentations

I don't know if they are fond of it. But that is a just a catch phrase. its just that, its part of the game. And while that is part of the game, there are other objectives like collecting the 8 badges and beating the Elite Four.
