Suikoden let's summarize this first. Suikoden was a rpg game in the beggining of the playstation era. Some commonly known features are the story line and the infamous 108 characters. As we go through the review I will tell you more about it.

Gameplay 10/10: I absolutely loved the gameplay it almost could have made the game itself. You have a castle, and at first It feels empty, but as you go through the game you will find people in towns. These people most of them require you to do something for them. Sometimes it's hard sometimes it's easy. I couldn't really forget about the fighting. Well everyone knows about the final fantasy systems and all that. Fortunately for you depending on if you like that it's sorta like that. Of course it's turn based but there are some big differences. Instead of magic you get these things called runes. These runes you get from chests and sometimes even fights. As you go along runes get level ups. Even if some runes have extraordinary power. Though they may not work to well against bosses the can have areas of effect mass damage or instant death ect. Now more about other stuff. Everyones use to the old 3 characters per match. Well on Suikoden you get SIX!! This is great because you have ranged and melee. Sure you have to set your formation correctly for everyone to attack but thats not to much of a hassle. The battle system is quick and easy. It's quick because up to 3 people can attack at a time with this you don't continually wait for the round to be over. Theres also Free will. Free will makes you characters attack how they want. This is usually helpful since there computer programs and know who to attack, but they can't use potions runes or defend. There is also 2 other battle modes but I won't spoil it.

Graphics 7/10: The graphics are pretty bad but theres something about them that seperates them from other games. You ever played a snes game and thought wow this game could have been allot better. Well count this as a snes game with improved graphics and extra allot better. Sure it's not flashy but who needs to be flashy. So on to the next.

Story 10/10: The story was set up perfectly. This story has the three squares of epicness.
Choices, choosing your words making the story alter even if it's slightly.
Death, This is a war game without death it's not war well I geusse I should say midevil war game.
Sadness/sad music: we'll get to the sad music in music but, There are so many twists and turns in the plot like traitors, Dead friends, spys, ect. It makes you feel sad. Fortunately if you don't like sadness then It usually gets right back to the war themes.
Now on to the actual story.WARNING SPOILER ALERT! You are______ Mcdohl son of a high rank commander teo Mcdohl. You are going to be working under a low rank officer called commander Kraze. Along with you a loyal servant whos took care of you your whole life. Some guy who loves to fight and your bodyguard. Someone who doesn't love to fight cares for people and your bodyguard. And who could forget your best friend ted. Or in other words Gremio, Pahn, Cleo and,ted Unfortunately this setup goes into hell in a hand basket. after a fairly easy mission now you have to go fight bandits. But you have to go into a cave to get there. Now you are fighting a giant bug monster who gaurds the small fort. You are going to lose. Fortunately your friend ted has a rune sealed away in his hand. Sorta weird don't you think. This rune swallows up the bug you capture the bandits and get a reward. Sorry mcdohl you failed commander Kraze sent his evil officer kannon with you he takes the money and assumes all credit with commander Kraze. He also takes your friend ted over to a girl called lady windy. Later ted comes back all bruised and battered. So he quickly tells you about his rune it is the soul eater. He has been alive for 300 years thanks to it. It is a cursed rune and one of the 37 true runes. Lady windy has a true rune. If you have to true runes you can take over the world. Lady windy's practically been chasing ted for an eternity. So now pahn decides to get a doctor later he comes back with the imperials and they are going to take ted ted gives you the rune and you escape. Now there is only you gremio and cleo. You meet someone named viktor and he helps you escape it turns out he is a member of the liberation army. You end up joining the army and thats 1 and a half hours of gameplay right there. Despite all this unless you want to get all the characters it only takes 22 hours to beat the game.

Music 9/10: Theres great music throughout the game im getting tired of typing so im gonna make this short. The sad music sets up the mood for usually death or someone has betrayed the liberation army. This is also played when you kill commanders. Usually this is greated by some push in the story and some good war music where your stratagist tells you what you should do next or some other thing. The world map music is nothing to brag about it's pretty average so lets not go into detail. Despite all this theres funny moments in the game witch is greeted by some weird but funny music witch I pesonally liked. Theres a few other tracks of music you can see for yourself so go play the game!

overall rating 10/10: Great game perfect story fitting music with a fitting look. If this game was made by square with all the story but ff graphics it would be perfect
Buy/or rent: I would say rent the replayability is bad and theres only 22 hours of gameplay just rent it for a week unless you plan on keeping it in your drawer forevor until you play it again five years later.

Wow nice big review. I only skimmed through it but that deserves 450 Viz.

Very good game. Graphics are dated, yes, but the storyline is just awesome.
