I'm a big music freak when it comes to video games. List some of your favorite video game composers! My favorites would have to be Koji Kondo(Mario, Zelda), Nobuo Uematsu(Final Fantasy), Jun Senoue(Sonic), Kenji Yamamoto(Metroid) mainly because these are my favorite series and their songs are wicked catchy, and to a lesser extent Takeharu Ishimoto(Crisis Core VII and some other FF games) because of his nice way of transitioning from ambient sounds to more heavy metal or rock in CCVII.

One of the best Rpgs ever, Secret Of Mana's tittle music is just gorgeous. Think about it, next to the programer, the first person is the composer, H. Kikuta. It is just stunning.

My 2nd favorite artist is the composer Koji Kondo for making the Legend Of Zelda's theme. The Legend Of Zelda theme is Koji Kondo's best peice of work. One of my favorite piece of music.

Kenji Yamamoto's Super Metriod Theme was great. A great Super Nintendo game. Super Metroid theme sends chill down our spines every time we play.

Yah, so these are my favorite composers.

Dr. Wily's Stage on Mega Man 2 was also my favorite.

Definitely Motoi Sakuraba. He does the Valkyrie Profile Series, the Star Ocean series, Golden Sun, most of the Tales of Series and some of the games on the N64. This guy has quite an extensive portfolio. Star Ocean 3 has a couple of remixes that were originally used in Valkyrie Profile for the PSX, and I can't decide which one is better now, lol.

I don't know who exactly is the composer for Mega Man 4 but it had a wicked soundtrack to it. I really liked Skull-Man's stage music, got you pumped and was very catchy. Pharoah Man had a good soundtrack for his stage as well...

All the ones that have been named previously are seriously awesome and are all worthy of praise, but on top of all of those I have to add Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall (Video Games Live ftw! also EWJ, Mass Effect, Advent Rising, Myst III etc.), Jeremy Soule, Marty O'Donnell, and loads of other folks I can't remember off the top of my head.

Video game music is utterly amazing and deserves to be recognised as the art form that it actually is! Soundtracks are most definitely the 'Classical' music of the current era!
