Paper Mario 64 was a popular video game that was released for the Nintendo 64. I want to think the game came out in 1964. Paper Mario 64 introduced new characters to the Mario Franchise. In fact, a lot of the characters made appearances in other games. One of the reoccurring characters from Paper Mario 64 was the 7 elite star spirits. Mamar is one of the 7 elite star spirits, so lets learn about her.

Not much is known about her history. However she is one of the older star spirits along with Eldstar. She was likely born a star kid a very long time ago and was chosen to be an elite star spirit. Who chose her is a mystery given that she could be the same age as Eldstar. It is hinted Eldstar chose the other 5. She has several important roles as one of the elder star spirits. Her first role is to look after the other star spirits except for Eldstar. It should be noted she looks after the star kids and non elite star spirits as well. Second, she along with her colleagues watch over the star rod. She also grants wishes. For the elite star spirits to grant wishes the person must have good intentions, be of good character, have a good heart, and be a good person overall. Characters that have bad intentions, have greedy, and are selfish do not get their wishes granted.

One day Bowser grew tired of not having his wishes granted by the 7 elite star spirits. As a result he decided he would take the star rod for himself. He was going to use this to gain power. Bowser and his army breached star haven and stole the star rod. Bowser imprisoned all 7 of the elite star spirits. He imprisoned Mamar in the ruins and was given to TutanKoopa to guard. Tutankoopa kept her deep in the ruins and kept her in the dungeon.

After doing his despicable deed Bowser then went to Mushroom Kingdom to kidnap Preach. Mario tried to intervene but was defeated by Bowser. Mario was no match for the newly enhanced Bowser. Also Bowser could use the star rod to refill his hit points. Mario was knocked out of the castle and landed in a forest. The star spirits appeared to Mario in a vision. Eldstar told him as he recovered to go to Star Haven. When Mario went to Star Haven. The 7 star spirits used the last of their power in the form of holograms to tell Mario the situation.

Mamar power was restored after she was liberated by Mario. Later in the game she helps Mario defeat Bowser. She then goes back to Star Haven as things ended up being the way they were before Bowser invaded.

Appearance- She is a golden yellow star. She also has a pink bow tie and a pink ribbon.

Personality- Her name is a reference to mama or mamaw. She acts like a mother and grandmother figure to the younger stars. She is cheerful and is wise. She enjoys giving wisdom to those that are in good character. However, she can be strong when she has to be. Furthermore, she takes her role seriously. Also she is optimistic this is seen when she told the others not to loose hope that Mario will find a way to defeat Bowser.

Abilities- After Mario liberates her from the dunegon in the ruins. She gives Mario the lullaby ability. Mario can call on Mamar to appear in battle. She will then sing a lullaby that will put enemies to sleep. This will cause the enemies to skip several turns in battle allowing Mario and his friends to get extra hits.

Allies

Eldstar and the other star spirits. She could be the same age as Eldstar. Thus she has a close relationship with him as he is also an elder. She looks after the other elite star spirits and interacts with them like a mother or a grandmother would.

Mario- She knows that Mario always has good intentions. She goes out of her way to help him in his quest. She will even tell Mario who to talk to to gain information.

Mario Party Members- She respects and encourages all of the Mario Party members to continue to aid Mario in his quest.

Twink- Twink is a star kid who looks up to the 7 star spirits. He was just called to the sky so he is very young. She encourages him. He also helps them at the end defeat Bowser.

Peach- She considers Peach to have a pure heart and to be a good character.

Enemies-

Bowser- She along with her colleagues did not like Bowser before he stole the star rod. This is because Bowser was always causing trouble, was greedy and wanted power. After he does his deed she despises him even more. Even once saying stealing the star rod is even low by Bowser's standards.

Kammy Koopa- She does not like Kammy because she led the troops into breaching Star Haven.

Tutankoopa- Tutankoopa even though he was following the orders of Bowser imprisoned her. He also kept her in the deepest part of the ruins which was the dungeon. She thanks Mario for defeating that monster in some versions of the game.

In summary, Her name implies that she is a mother or grandmother figure to the stars including some of the star spirits. She is an elder star and is highly respected among her colleagues. She encourages those that have good character and gives advice. In addition, she is very cheerful and optimistic even when things look bleak. Moreover, she is strong when she has to be and is similar to Mistar. This concludes her character biography.
