Every so often new characters are introduced in the Mario Franchise. Sometimes all it takes is one game for a character to become a main stay. The 7 elite star spirits made their debut in Paper Mario 64. Since then they have appeared and been referenced in other Mario games. Misstar is one of the 7 elite star spirits, so lets learn about her.


Misstar origins are unknown. It is speculated and likely she was born as a star kid a long time ago. Furthermore, it is likely that she was chosen by Eldstar to be an elite star spirit. Regardless, her role is to watch over the star rod in Star Haven. She also can grant wishes. However, she and her other star spirits only grant wishes to those that have good character, good intentions, are noble, and have a good heart. She and her other star spirits do not grant wishes to those who do not show good character, have selfish wishes such as more riches, more power and etc.

One day Bowser was tired of the 7 elite star spirits not granting his wishes due to reasons mentioned. In frustration Bowser and his army invaded Star Haven. Bowser then stole the star rod and imprisoned the 7 elite star spirits. He imprisoned Misstar on Lava Island. She was guarded by the fierce Lava Piranha plant. Bowser then invaded the Mushroom Kingdom, and kidnapped Peach. Mario tried to stop him but was defeated. This was because Bowser had the Star Rod and could enhance his power. This also meant Bowser could use the star rod to restore his hit points. Mario was knocked out and sent flying out of the castle.

Misstar along with the other star spirits used their holograms to appear in a vision by Mario. She stated to her colleagues that Mario was injured but would recover. After Mario recovered and went to Star Haven. She and the others used their last power to explain to Mario the situation and how they could help Mario.

Eventually, Mario liberated her from Lava Island. Now with her power restored she could help Mario. At the end she was fully restored along with the star rod in Star Haven. She later appears in other games.

Appearance- She is a pink star that wears a yellow or gold band around her. Before she was imprisoned she was one of the brightest shinning stars.

Personality- She is cheerful and pure hearted. However, she is very strong. She is also strong willed and is not afraid to let people even good guys know when they have gotten out of line. She values life and considers it a precious gift. She will defend life at all costs.

Abilities- After being rescued she will give Mario the smooch ability. Mario can call on her to give him or his party members a kiss. The kiss can restore hit points up to 20 points. She is very useful when battles get tough.

Her colleagues- She is on good terms with all of her colleagues. She considers them like her siblings. She looks up to Eld Star and to some extent Mamar.

Mario- She considers Mario to be worthy due to his good intentions and how he tries to protect life.

Mario Party Members- She is on good terms with all of Mario's helpers due to them aiding his quests.

Kolorado- Even though she berates Kolorado for risking his life for treasure. She still respects him. This is because she knows that his intentions are good and he is not looking to do bad things with treasure. In fact, after berating him she offers him encouragement but not to be as reckless.

Peach- She considers Peach pure in heart and very worthy.

Enemies

Bowser- She did not like Bowser before the events. She despises him even more after he stole the Star Rod. In some versions of the game she states how it is immoral to use the star rod for selfish ways.

Kammy Koopa- She does not like Kammy because she lead the troops in breaching the Star Rod. Also because Kammy uses magic in the wrong way.

Lava Piranha- He imprisoned her and guarded her to were she could not get out. Also he kept her in a hot place near the volcano so its no wonder she despises him as well.

Jr Troopa- In some versions she berates Jr stating how he is going down a wrong road due to his antics.

In summary, she is a cheerful, and helpful star. She is a strong character due to her special abilities. She is also strong willed and not afraid to call out those that get out of line even if they are good guys. Her name is likely a pun on Miss Star. she is also 1 of 2 female elite star spirits. Overall, she likes helping those that she thinks can learn something or are just good characters. Even after she berates somebody if they have a good heart she will offer encouragement like she did to Kolorado. This concludes her biography.
