Paper Mario 64 gave us a lot of new characters in the Mario Franchise. Kooper is one of the new characters. He fights alongside Mario in the first Paper Mario game, so Let's learn about him.

Kooper is a Koopa Troopa, who does not work for Bowser, and is young. He lives in Koopa Village next door to Kolorado. When Mario first meets him he discovers that the fuzzies have stolen his blue shell. Kooper being bold decides to go along with Mario in defeating the fuzzies. However, Mario had already defeated the fuzzies and gotten his shell back. He then decides he wants to go help fight Bowser and rescue Peach. Mario eagerly accepts him as an ally and member of his party.

He is a young Koopa Troopa and looks up to his idol Kolorado. In fact, he states to Mario how he wants to be an archaeologist and historian just like Kolorado. He also states how he likes to go on adventures which intrigues Mario. Despite his youth he has some powerful moves.

Kooper goes along Mario along his journey his skills prove useful as he helps Mario in his battles. In the meantime he starts earning respect by his peers in his ownright. Eventually, he meets his idol Kolorado and tells him he wants to be like him. Kolorado decides to take him on as a student and assistant. After the game he is seen joining Kolorado on an exploration. However, he gets a letter from Peach stating she wants to give him an award for helping Mario.

Appearance- Kooper is a blue koopa Troopa. He has a blue shell. He wears a red bandanna or scarf around his neck. In addition, he is shown to wear blue tennis shoes.

Personality- He is hungry for adventure and is eager to go on adventures this is because of who he wants to be like. He is shown to be very brave as he is not afraid of enemies even those that are larger than him. In addition, he is bold and is always eager to help those who are in need. This is shown when he interacts with villagers in other villages stating hopefully he can help. One of his downfalls is he can overestimate opponents especially those larger than him. This could be though because he is young and still learning how to use his attacks as weapons.

Abilities- He has the ability to help Mario activate switches. He can tuck himself into his shell and let Mario kick it to retrieve items. He can also use his shell in battle. This can do damage even to hard hitting enemies.

Attacks- He has some powerful attacks. His most powerful attack is his power shell. Kooper will power up get in his shell and launch himself at enemies. This attack can do some damage. He can also use his shell as a weapon in a regular way like most Koopa Troopas can. His shell can also be used for defense purposes as well.

Weakness- He can sometimes overestimate his abilities especially against larger more powerful enemies. As I stated this is due to his youth and him still learning his potential.

Relationships

Kolorado's Wife- Kooper and Kolorado's wife are on good terms. It is revealed he visits Kolorado's Wife to read books that her husband has wrote. She is impressed that he wants to be like her husband.

Kolorado- He looks up to Kolorado adn wants to be like him. This proves to be music to Kolorado's ears. Kolorado takes him on as his student and assistant without any hesitation.

Mario- Kooper recognizes Mario is on an important mission to stop Bowser and save Peach. He goes along with Mario gaining useful skills in the process.

Peach- Kooper respects Peach and recognizes that she is a Princess. Later she invites Kooper and other party members to present a party as well as award to.

Other Party Members- He gets along well with Mario's other party members.

Luigi- He also respects Luigi

Enemies

Fuzzies- He is mad at the Fuzzies for causing mayhem in his village. Also they stole his shell. On the other hand he later mentions maybe the Fuzzies were not so bad after all.

Bowser- He is an enemy to Bowser as Bowser has caused problems to his village. He also knows how evil Bowser is.

Jr Troopa- He admires Juniors persistence but does not get along with him especially after he helps Mario defeat him in battle.

Overall, Kooper is a valuable ally to have in Paper Mario. He can retrieve items, activate switches, and is good in battle. He is bold, brave and is adventure seeking. He starts gaining respect by his peers and even Kolorado himself toward the end of the game. He is similar to Koops who severs the same role as Kooper in the sequel to Paper Mario. Kooper has a fun personality. This concludes the biography.
