Colorado Rocky Mountain High, oh wait wrong spelling of Colorado and wrong song, little humor there. Today, I'm not going to be talking about the state or the state's song. Instead I'm going to do a biography of Kolorado. Kolorado is a character in the Mario franchise that first appeared in Paper Mario 64 also known as Paper Mario 1. Anyway, lets learn about him.

Kolorado is a Koopa Troopa who does not work for Bowser. He leaves with is wife near Toad Town in the Koopa Village. His father was a professor, historian, and archaeologist. His father traveled around the world before dying in Paper Mario 2 the Thousand Year door. Kolorado really looked up to his father and decided to be like him. He studied history and archaeology under Professor Frankly. He would later excel in all of these becoming a professor himself.

He would later travel to ruins to hunt for treasure, ancient artifacts and other things. It is also shown in Paper Mario 64 that he has also wrote several books. He is admired by his next door neighbor Kooper who wants to follow in his footsteps. Before the events of Paper Mario he married and started to live in Koopa Village. However, he still went on long journeys. Often times forgetting to tell his wife much to her dismay.

He was no present to see Bowser steal the Star Rod and imprison the star spirits. He was also not present when Bowser attacked Peach's Castle. After Kooper joins Mario's Party they learn from his wife that Kolorado is probably out trying to explore or find an ancient ruin. Eventually, Mario finds Kolorado trying to find the Dry Dry Ruins. He later sends Mario a letter stating he found the ruins, but he did not know Mario had found it and found the treasure as well as rescued the Star Spirit.

He is next seen going to Lava Island. Mario encounters him again. After Mario finds an entrance into Lava Island, which is home to an active Volcan, Kolorado rushes in. Kolorado did not know that Bowser's men were already in the runs. Instead he sets off many traps set by Bowser's army. He gets close to the treasure but the eruption forces him to flee. It should be noted he risked his life to get the treasure. Eventually he ended up with it after Mario gave it to him. He eventually goes back home to his wife. But he says he will explore the Crystal Ice Palace.

He is last seen leading a team along with Kooper to the Crystal Palace. However, Parakarry gives a message from his wife. He once again forgot to tell his wife were he was going. He runs back to Koopa Village in a hilarious way.

Appearance-Kolorado is a yellow koopa with a brownish color shell. He also is often seen wearing a white desert hat in other times he wears an Indiana Jones type hat. Sometimes he wears brown shoes and cares a staff with him. It is hinted Kolorado might be British as he uses British accents when talking to others.

Personality- Kolorado is a legendary archaeologist and scholar as well as a historian. He prides himself on having earn these titles. He is considered an expert in his field like his mentors Professor Frankly and his father. He is bold and courageous as he often goes into ruins. In addition, he is very brave not being afraid of ruins, lava, ice or risks. He is shown to have a powerful charge attack with his shoulder or shell. He is obsessed with finding artifacts and treasure. His bravery, boldness and obsessiveness, can sometimes cause him to be reckless. For example, he went into the Lava ruins setting off traps. Another example is when the volcano was erupting he tried to run back to get the treasure before being stopped by Mario.

Despite being intelligent, and an expert in his field he is shown to be forgetful. He often forgets to tell is wife where he is going. His wife stated I know he goes to ruins and adventures but I wish he would tell me. It makes me mad when I do not know where he is. Indeed, it is implied he has forgotten to tell his wife several times. Despite forgetting to tell her, he loves his wife and cares for her. In addition, he also carries about the well being of his team he takes with him.

Overall, he is proud and prideful of his accomplishments. He is also proud that he is an expert in his field. Moreover, he is thrilled that Kooper looks up to him. Moreover, he is shown to be kind and caring even using his shoulder/shell attack when he fought his friends were in danger. His faults are he can be reckless.

Relationships

Allies-

Kooper- Kooper looks up to Kolorado and Kolorado is eager to take him on as a student. At the end of the game he is taking Kooper with him on adventures.

Mario-He is friends with Mario as Mario has helped him find treasure. He also understand Mario is on an important quest to defeat Boswer and rescue Peach.

Peach- He highly respects Peach referring to her as Princess or Her Highness.

Other Party Members- He is friends with Mario's Party Members even though a few of them point out he can be reckless.

Yoshii's and Raphael the Raven- They respect him for his titles and also help him find the treasure on Lava Island.

Professor Frankly- He was Frankly's top student and looked up to him wanting to be like him in his field.

Enemies-

Bowser- In some versions Kolorado points out how evil Bowser

Piranha Plants- He does not like Piranha Plants due to getting bit by them several times.

Overall, Kolorado is considered a legendary archaeologist in the Mario Franchise. He sometimes wears a uniform like another fictional archaeologist Indiana Jones. Indeed, Nintendo has confirmed that Indiana Jones served as the inspiration when they created Kolorado. Even though he can be stubborn and reckless he has good intentions. He never uses the artifacts or treasure he finds in a bad way. Most of the time he wants them to prove they exists, show his students, and write books about them. He is an important character in the Mario Franchise. This concludes his Biography.
