Shy Guy also known as just Shy Guys first appeared in Super Mario Brothers 2. They have been regular occurrences in Mario games ever since. They are one of the most common enemies in Mario Games, so lets learn about them.

Shy guys made their debut in Super Mario Brothers 2. In this game they were working for Wart and took over Subcon. They usually walk toward the player or in tight spots. After Wart is defeated they appear in future games. Their next game they appeared in was Yoshii's Island. In this game they are working for the Koopas. In future games they are part of Boswer's Minions.

Shyguys then appeared in the Mario Party games working once again for Bowser confirming they are Bowser's minions and part of his army. In these games they will play for Bowser.

They also appeared in the Paper Mario series. In Paper Mario 1 it was revealed that they have their own toy box. Their Toy Box is a world filled with toys that the shy guys play with and use as weapons. This implies that they like to have fun and play when they are not doing duties in Bowser's Armies.

It should be noted there are several versions of Shy Guys.

Mega Shy guys- These appeared in the remake of Super Mario Brothers 2. They are very large and just try to walk into the player or cause them to get hit.

Sniff Itts or Sniff Shy Guys- These are shy guys that have a cannon for a noise. They will fire bullets at their opponents.

General Shy Guy- He is the General and over the shy guys in Bowser's army. He is a tough customer as he cares for his army members. He fights in a toy tank. The toy tank makes General Shyguy a tough opponent. The toy tank can use electricity as a weapon and he can throw bombs out of his tank.

Spear Shy Guy- Shy guys that usually dance with spears.

Lantern Shy Guys- Shy guys that are ghost like figures that carry a lantern.

Appearances- Shy Guys were a mask over their face. They wear their masks because they are shy. Shy guys come in different colors but the most common colors are: Red, Blue, Purple, Pink, Yellow, Green, and Blue. Red appears to be the most common color. They are also bipedal and usually walk on two legs.

Personality- They are mostly shy they do not like to be starred at. However, their personality varies depending on the type. The General is outgoing, tough, and gives out commands like a military officer. When dealing with Mario even if they are running a shop they appear to be hostile toward him. However, that is because they are part of Bowser's armies. In their toy box world they are shown to be very playful and love playing with toys.

Abilities- Shy guys are able to use stilts and weapons. They can turn anything into a weapon especially toys. Basically, they are very adaptive.

Attacks- In their first game they just tried to walk into the player or try to knock them off into the pits. The Sniff Shy Guys would fire bullets at the player. In future games regular versions of Shy guys get more attack patterns. They attack on stilts and will try to kick the player. They are also shown using slingshot to shoot rocks at the player. Other attacks are using toys as weapons and using bombs to throw at the player.

Weaknesses- In their first game they could be picked up and thrown at other enemies, defeated by throwing veggies or a mushroom block. In Yoshii's Island the player could throw eggs at them or eat them to turn them into eggs. In future games they are thought in typical battle form. In a few hits they go down. The problem is they are often in numbers.

In conclusion- Shy Guys are a common enemy that works for Bowser. They are several versions of them. They are very adaptive as they use several ways to attack. In addition, they are playful. In terms of enemies they are some of my favorites in the Mario franchise. Maybe it is because of their shyness or their colors, but they are some of my favorites. This concludes the bio
